Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread

Hey guys, whats wrong with using Modern Talking in massive? if you know what you're doing, you can reall make some sexy sounds. similar to first of the year if you sample it right. Anyhoo, the way i make my basses mostly is i make sounds in massive, using modern talking or not, and then i sample th...

Re: What monitors do you use when producing?

I own a pair myself and the low fqs are quite hyped. someone on the neurohopforum compared them to krk monitors and he is somehow right, but eventhough the bass frequencies are prominent I found the mids to be very clear. If you're looking for flat headphones dt990s might be a better option but I'm ...

Re: Recording computer screen

Depends on what's long for you :D I recorded 1h or 1,5h sometimes and didn't have any crashes, but obviously I can't talk for longer recordings. Maybe just split them up after 30mins if it really happens regularly for you...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread

OTT is definitely good for a growl. It helps keep it steady with all of the boosts coming from EQ modulation. Ableton rocks man! just incase ppl didn't know about it. steve duda released a plugin that can be used out of ableton and does the exact same thing. http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?id=...

Re: Skrillex Ragga Bomb

I've just realized that I've got that sound in one of my remixes that I'm working on atm. It's a distorted and compressed square with a filter and a fairly high ressonance (I used a double notch). The trick is to modulate the cutoff and the ressonance depending on the notes you play, so you'll find ...

Re: Arranging multiple synths in Ableton

I think I know what you're on. I remember when I tried FL that I was able to see what the midi was playing on other instruments in the pattern view. As someone else said you won't get satisfied in the session view. Use the arrangement view instead: what helps me during this process is to make the mi...

Re: The Color Wavetable

Hey, as I am not too good with theory I can't help you that much, but I might be able to help you how you can find it out by yourself. I played a C on my keyboard - with the help of spectrum analyzer you should be able to see were the peaks are. In this case: E, G, B, D, F#. Spectrum analyzer in abl...

Re: How do you start each track off?

..... Basically, starting with the drums is IMO boring as hell. If I start a tune with drums, the tune will be dictated by those drums and anything I add to it after the fact will be added to and around the drums. FUCK. THAT. I'd much rather get some fun stuff going on, samples/pads/synth loops/mel...

there's a normal hat pattern layered with white noise / bright noise in the background. simply automating the volume of the noise should do the trick

Re: heavy lead synth, how to?

two sine waves with 4 octaves inbetween (+24, -24), any filter with some ressonance on it (if you're in massive, scream filter: cutoff 1o'clock, scream 1o'clock, ressonance 11o'clock), distortion, waveshaper (Massive: Parabolic Shaper - D/W+Drive = 100%). Play C3 boom

Experiment, try for yourself. See what works for you. Stick your sub driver up your rectum, see what freqs massage your prostrate and what lfo rates bring you to orgasm. Gonna try this one out, thank you for your input ;D (maybe I'll try mixing with different positions aswell ;) ) I found a nice pi...

Monitors: horizontal vs. vertical

Hey o/ I recently bought a pair of HS 7, since I thought it's time to have another possibility to listen to my tracks and music in general besides my headphones and my regular hifi system. I love them so far. I'm curious if it's possible to use them in a horizontal position since the manual says tha...
