Re: How to make that bass. That filthy, saturated, bass.
I thought it sounded like there was a hint of square wave in there. I could just be an asshat though.

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
so for making good vowels the first and most important part is making sure you have a wave that is a formant shape like i discussed in the long convoluted post. this just makes sure the waveform you are imposing vowels on does already sound like a voice. as for modulating the EQ there are really no...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
I uhhh.... welll....
Still hoping for any suggestions on further processing for my growl I made. And i'm willing to help anyone that wants with what i've already got.
So... just trying to get some positive responses and avoid this shit storm of off topic.

Re: Looking for some sick Massive preset packs to learn it
Make one of your own patches > fail > make another > fail > try again > fail > keep trying x 1000 > success probability mate. Sounds rather inefficient. If i could spend 10 or 20 bucks on an amazing bank that would teach me the synth id do it instantly. Dont have any names for you, not a big massiv...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
https://soundcloud.com/zachlancy/growl-bass-example-2 Made this tonight. I apologize for the cheesy loop, just threw it together to put into context. So far its just a massive with two OSC's, WOW filter, Redux(bitcrusher set very low on hard mode) EQ (subtractive), and (moderate)Compresssion. Any o...

Picking a DAW is like picking a girlfriend. You don't want to stick with the wrong fit. You have to be promiscuous.mthrfnk wrote:Still don't understand why people starting out are switching DAWs. Just pick one and stick with it, using 2 really isn't going to make you better.

Re: FL Studio to Ableton?
Ableton is really easy to learn. That is of course probably subjective, but for me it was easy to pick up. I've tried every DAW under the sun and never had an issue learning any of them. Except Reaper (I hope Electic_Head doesn't read this) I've bounced around and i've finally moved back to Ableton ...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
I made a growl using massive: https://soundcloud.com/dot_music/growl I think I did good tbh, and I found that there's almost 100 of different growlie noises I can get out of the one patch I made by making minor changes in the wavetables, the phase modulation i set, or even the cutoff on the hipass ...
