Re: Subbass pissin' me off.
Perhaps you have a MIDI controller that has a parameter set to the volume and you are accidentally knocking a slider or knob without realising what you are doing

Re: music to be inspired by
That James Holden track: Lump is pretty cool. It reminds me a lot of Vitalic - Poney Part one in the way that it has a sick bass hook and because it really doesn't feel like it goes anywhere. Plus that intro is awful I almost gave up and went on to something else.

Re: Scared about learning to DJ.
well I learnt everything from trials, never read the manual. Just got around to reading recently to see what I might've missed from exploring it on my own (production). there are many more things and specific knobs that do many different things from filters/oscillators/envelopes/reverbs and so much...

Jesus christ. The track in your signature has to be the most uncreative use of the amen break in existence. You didn't even bother getting rid of the start of the break which has some other instrument playing.jonahmann wrote:Transients.

Re: how did you learn the keys/theory?
I have the scales printed off and put on my wall... grabbed them from wikipedia. I only ever make shit in Fm, and like maybe D#m and F#m, so there's not much to learn. As for chord progressions I'm screwed. You don't have to remember every scale to know what notes are in what scales. 1. Get out a k...

Re: Coki gives up vinyl, switches to CDJs
I'm not sure why, and stepping back and looking at my opinion it looks really dumb, but I really don't like the idea of midi controllers, laptop DJs, and the like. I'm not sure why, but I just feel like DJing should be a 2-deck one-mixer thing (or 3 or 4 decks) I also don't like that they can just ...

There is a lot of discouragement towards innovation. What can you really do with a sub, breaks @ 140 BPM over 10 years?
