Re: Koan Sound/Kill The Noise HELPPPP
The vowel on that just doesn't come through clear enough to me but I feel like you're on the right track. Simple is better

Re: The Bass Thread
one tip I've got is throw a delay on the synth in full wet and just a few milliseconds of delay. I normally use H-Delay and have it in ping pong mode. It can give very robotic characteristics

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Decided to put the simple Triangle ---> Formant growl in context. This growl is similar although the triangle is being modulated by a ramp wave. This seems to morph the formant, which is exactly what i'm aiming for. However, it makes the sound a bit hard to work with. This is really great. I've bee...

Send kick and snare to a aux, slap a reverb on there with full wet and just a few ms of decay time and small room size. Compress the fuck out of it with distortions in between to taste. Towards the end of the chain eq out low and high frequencies, make a subtle roll off from 700-800 as your low and ...

Thanks guys. As far as what not to do, I wouldn't stack up a million plug-ins on top of each other to try and squeeze the sound out. I've tried Sugarbytes WOW and stuff but I thought it sounded a bit "un-natural" for what I was trying to get it to do. My chain for the main bass sound in Me...

FM8 Question..
I was wondering if it was possible to draw in your own harmonics on the waveforms in each operator, like in the Ableton synth, Operator? Thanks

Re: Skrillex reveals details on how he makes his basslines
Hey guys, I barely come on this forum, but after reading through most of this thread (lots of great ideas) I thought I would make and share this little video. It's more of a suggestion then anything, at how simple a formant type of bass sound can be, hopefully it gives you some ideas. http://www.yo...
