Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
Big up for all the feedback. Thanks for the suggestions. To be fair I only posted it to ask whether the sample had any potential or not, I haven't put much effort into it, nor did I say I had. BaasDNB, you really believe that? Not everybody takes it so seriously, as you clearly do. Isn't this side o...

Mid bass? You mean the stab thing or something different?InTheCrowd wrote: @Phalanx
Not quite sure what to say, bit too bare bones the mid bass needs a bit of a low end cut add some more elements then post it!

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
http://soundcloud.com/dj-phalanx/the-void-1 I might just abandon this Enter The Void sample, there's just a silly amount of background noise from basically every possible frequency it seems like. I have another that might fit better, maybe. It's basically impossible to get rid of though. What do yo...

Re: Midlands crew
For a while it will be, but if I buy tickets 6 months ahead or something then it won't be so much. I dunno. I just want to have my own record store that I can go to to buy stuff just for listening to, even If I'd never use it in a set or something. Buying records online gets depressing.

Re: Midlands crew
Yo.
Anyone know any good record stores anywhere in the midlands? As far as I know there's none here in Stoke. I'd rather catch a train every few weeks and bring a shitload of records back with me than order shit online and get fucked over with postage fee's.

I'm a fucking idiot. I must have had the cartridge upside down when I did it earlier. Only just checked it.
Cheers.

Re: Technics 1210 problem
No they weren't but they are now. It's got rid of the "bzzz" noise but now it's just not playing, even when switching the cue over to that deck I can't hear it on my headphones either. So perhaps it's that the head shell isn't connected to the cartridge properly? http://www.soundfountain.c...

Technics 1210 problem
Hey, basically one of my decks is making a "bzzz" noise through the speakers. However I can hear the records clearly from the turntable itself, my other deck works perfectly and the leads are in exactly the same place (both in phono and set to phono on the mixer). So the way I see it is, i...

Yeah it is. I'll try re-installing Reaper or something later cause I don't have any idea what could be causing it.

Just tried that, didn't work. Maybe it's because it's only the demo version of Reaper?

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread
Anyone have any ideas as to why I can't get my Oxygen 25 working in Reaper? It's enabled in the preferences of course, last night it was popping up with a message saying something like it can't recognize Oxygen 25, something along those lines. It works perfectly in Ableton, but I don't like Ableton,...

Re: [production bible 2] Headphones
That does look pretty damn sexy! Does the frequency range matter a lot with these little amps though? I noticed this goes from 20hz.
Also, how does it connect to your sound card?
Thanks.

Re: [production bible 2] Headphones
Probably going to order some AKG K240's when I get paid on monday.
What's the most popular headphone amp that's decent? I don't mind spending a bit more on it as long as it's good. I've seen some that are like £20 but I presume they're not so great?

Thanks for the feedback. Heh, I don't know why but I completely forgot about doing anything to the sample after i sliced it up and arranged it a little. Reverb should help I think.
Are there any particular decent tutorial's on drums?

http://soundcloud.com/dj-phalanx/the-void-take-2 Did some work on it this morning, sounds a little bit more structured now i think, dunno. Don't have any idea where I'm going with it but I guess i'll experiment and try and learn a few techniques a long the way, I guess. Just gonna fuck about basica...

Re: Loefah talks vinyl and being grumpy
What I'd do to have a record store nearby that actually sells decent stuff, never mind a community, that just isn't going to happen here. Gotta accept that. Just thinking about how much I must have spent on postage fee's... crazy. If for whatever reason I'm still living in this dump of a city in the...
