Re: Band name idea

It troubles me greatly to witness the world straying farther and farther away from its natural origins. Humanity has become immersed in the technological while losing touch with the sources that have provided the means for these “advances” from the start. It is simultaneously ironic, sad, and frustr...

Band name idea

So I don't know about you, but I've become rather disenchanted with the whole dubstep scene these days :H: .... Long story short, I am starting to produce less and less dubstep and drifting towards a 70s rock direction. That said, I actually started recording some new songs with a psychedelic, acid ...

First-time DJ on a budget, thinking about Stanton SCS.4DJ

I have never DJed before (my 11:11 project is currently strictly studio-based) but I would really like to get into performing live. However, I don't have the finances to be able to drop major bills on gear like a Traktor S4 or similar mixer, let alone a laptop. I recently stumbled upon what might be...

And? It's blackened folk metal lol. Didn't really call for anything beyond basic choirs and whatnot. Not to mention these recordings were from years ago, back when I still just went with cool-sounding presets rather than trying to customize them.

Re: Black metal

I've got an Alesis Fusion that I've used for my black/folk metal solo project Swordbearer. Great sounds on it, perfect for atmospheric metal. Thanks for that. I'll check it out. You have a link to your music? No problem! Good luck with it. Here's some of my Swordbearer tracks, bear in mind the prod...

Re: Track sounds different after exporting

Bring EVERYTHING down at least -6dB or so including the master fader. Rule of thumb: never use a limiter on your master fader in order to boost your volume while in the mixing stage. Save that for mastering! You will be fighting it the whole time while trying to mix. Now, with a clear master fader d...

Re: (too much bass in mix?) False Blank & Village Torn - Nic

cool melody ideas. I think you should focus on getting your kick and snare to punch more, it doesn't sound like you are layering them, (my apologies if you are!) but yea, find some decent hard-hitting samples and layer/compress/EQ the drums better imo. Digging your ideas overall, with a tighter mixd...

Re:

cool thanks. I cannot be alone with this but I often have my bass sitting around the same as my kick or it just doesn't bang. I often try get my tune to peak at the same level as another Dubstep tune and I will need to put the bass volumn up or it just doesn't come near where I want it too  R...

Re: DAYUM I just started using Absynth....

Wow, I've never got around to looking into Absynth but from what you guys are saying it sounds like it might really be worth my while to check out. Massive is beastly... can't imagine how cool it would be to have something else of that caliber at my disposal.

Re: Vengeance

I once saw a track on soundcloud that was composed entirely of samples from Vengeance, and then titled and uploaded. Nothing in the description about it either. Had a bunch of people complimenting him on his "great work". I'm all for using some loops. But, when you just plop like 10 loops...

Very interesting interview! I love how he got into detail about his production process. I am always interested in reading more about that. The more details the better. So intriguing.
