Re: Cloned Massive patches sound different?
Well if you mean that when you copy the entire track and play them back at the same time, and it sounds different, it's because they are being throw out of phase. as in, the two tracks aren't making just one loud sound, but it's causing phase issues. But if you mean that your patch sounds different ...

Re: Mixing down, bass taking up the spectrum.
I think notch filtering? might help. Idk if that's what it's called, but you just use an eq and put a lot of notches out of frequencies so that you are taking away "notches" in the spectrum.

Re: "Panning" Drums (Emphasis on "")
I am pretty sure that they double tracked his drums so that they could pan/process it differently to give it that sense of being in another room. And yes, it does sound like they are panned, but most likely it's another kit altogether. The sounds aren't exactly the same and I thought it was really w...

Re: DAYUM I just started using Absynth....
Since I can't figure absynth out, but I like the original wavs that it uses, I found the library of the original samples and I just load those into Sampler in ableton and now I've got a ton of extremely awesome dry samples at my disposal. Absynth will be learned by me one day!

Re: Sleep Producing
All I can say, is that if you've got something to "say", "write it down". I know it's a melody or a drum beat or whatever, get to your DAW and jot it down. Fuck getting out of bed more than necessary, I just keep a notepad next to the bed to write ideas in so I can get on with s...

Re: Bark
If you use ableton, there are copious amounts of real samples in the drum racks. and most of them are already mapped to choke the other when played.

Man, Xanax messes people up, especially after such prolonged use. All I can say, is that if you've got something to "say", "write it down". I know it's a melody or a drum beat or whatever, get to your DAW and jot it down. Once you do, you'll find that you can relax because subcon...

Re: New NI VA synth
I havent watched the video, but I hope it is an upgrade for massive, maybe massive 2?? but essentially I hope it allows you to drop in your own waveforms. It'd be awesome if massive had that capability since I'm so used to it already.

Re: DAYUM I just started using Absynth....
Honestly, the presets I have are pretty sick. I still haven't been able to synthesize anything in absynth myself.
And I think I stumbled on a preset in Absynth that seven lions uses...I have a feeling he uses absynth for most of his pads.

Re: sidechains in ableton eating CPU
a way around your CPU being pushed to it's limits, just group the track you want to put the compressor on. Put your fx chain on the group/buss you just made and it will dramtically reduce your CPU. This is what I have been doing for a few months now and I noticed the CPU never goes over 20-30% no ma...

Re: Automating fm8 mod wheel in ableton?
Wait, don't you just click the mod wheel and then it pops up on the track lane for automation?
I thought you were asking how to modulate between the X&Y faders. The four quadrants, that's what I am wondering how to automate.

I use absynth, but strictly the stock presets haha. I have no idea how to synthesize in it. I do know that it's freaking powerful. But I am not comfortable in it like I am in Massive.

Daw? If you use ableton, auto filter has an LFO built into it. Auto filter is my favorite stock Ableton plugin. It's so powerful.

Re: Do you put at LFO on your Sub underneath wobbles?
I use the sine sub to accent the midrange. It makes you think that the sub is really nuts like the midrange is, but really it's just accenting. For example, the midrange might be doing 16th notes, but I'll make the sub accent the 1/8 notes...and usually my sub isn't just one note held down, it's pla...

Re: Traktor S4 Vs. Traktor S2
s4. you can always plug cdjs into it in the future and just use the s4 as the mixer. and it's nice to have the extra sample decks because you can use them as hotcues. so in that sense, you get 8 cue points per deck. idk, i love my s4.
