Re: Gear lust

I personally see two main advantages in using hardware... One being the "fun" factor, which many people seem to forget quite often in production forums, I personally dont enjoy myself with just Logic and some VSTs, while I can turn my uber simple and limited Korg ER1 and spend the entire a...

Re: Microkorg v.s Micron (or other synths)

If you are looking for analog... I would suggest the Mopho over the Minibrute (I guess I cannot make an opinion from the Arturia as its not even out yet...) The mopho is nasty, deep, powerfull, pretty versatile (in fact VERY versatile)... although the KB version is a bit more expensive than any of t...

Re: Microkorg v.s Micron (or other synths)

^^Korg MS2000 allll the way That mod sequencer can get REALLY interesting if you take the time... and those DGWS can get really powerfull, I like using these waveforms one octave up while the other Osc is a square or so, add the korg's digital distortion and you have a crazy powerfull sound! just se...

Re: What are the benefits of Logic?

^^This Space and Delay designer are probably the best software reverb and delay I have ever seen, and they are native to Logic.. Also, the multipressor is one of my favorites, you can get amazing results out of it, really professional mixes And I don't know about other people, but I'm still using th...

Re: Microkorg v.s Micron (or other synths)

i would personally go for an MS2000R... You get the microkorg engine (which in my personal opinion sounds better than the micron, sounds a bit nastier. More digital but in the good way, it has plenty of VERY cool and usable waveforms in the DGWS bank plus the vowel ones, the filter sounds a bit more...

Re: What are the benefits of Logic?

I have never had any problems with logic's automation And yes, its defenitly more geard towards people that want to writte songs or record sessions/jams instead of just sitting in front of the screen and clicking around, this also works much better for me as my "workflow" is basically turn...

Re: What are the benefits of Logic?

I have been using for 4 years now. I tried ableton (although this was 4 years ago) and I did not like it, less intuitive and seemed less professional (which is absolutely stupid, but that was the first feeling I got with it and its difficult to change first opinions). I love it. I use it mainly with...

Re: Analog Synth time

well, i have personally experienced not having to spend so much time mixing because of using some analog stuff... if ur original source has the bass or deepness you need you dont need to do it afterwards when mixing... you can skip the process to make your sound more "analog sounding" ...

wish list... ART PRO VLAII: great valve compressor, my friend has one and for drums and bass is amazing! its not overpriced by the way... if not an FMR RNC, another cool cheap compressor that can get pretty interesting OTO Biscuit: crazy EFX processor plus a small synth (has bitcrushing, waveshaping...

Re: Analog Synth time

Hi, i mainly use hardware when im in Spain (back home...) for sound creating/sound design... I have a Slim Phatty which sounds awsom-O ALTHOUGH its quite limited, what i do is i use it with a small modular setup (two more LFOs, an extra filter, a waveshaper, another EG and a clock gen and clock seq)...

Re: my unique live setup (dunno if ANYONE else does this)

Nice discussion... I dont know, i personally think that nowadays Dj sets need to evolve, back in the day I would go to check a Dj if I knew he had some hot tunes, tunes I wasnt able of finding because of my limited range or knowledge, now I have Internet, so I can just go to beatport and buy all the...
