Re: MUST DIE!'s Fever Dream part 1 Bass
i got something similar with Massive, a flanger and EQ automation. Not really that close but the same FX chain I think. Try playing with different wavetables with bend +- to get the base growl, then stick it through a light phaser or flanger and then do some EQ automation on it, and you should get s...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread

How did you make it? :corndance: they are both made with 3 layers of massive and the reese is double EQ modulated but the g...

Re: Anyone have a link to the NI RAZOR Downloader?
Not to sound like a jerk... But if you're willing to buy a synth(that originally only costs $100 US) second hand for $____, and the seller doesn't even have the program, you might as well go free lol not that I recommend. Like I said it's only $100 normally so, to buy it second hand sounds kinda du...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
A great tip for getting your sub bass to match the reese is vocode it to the signal. Recently discovered that trick and it's so useful because it's subtle but effective.

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Straight out of massive layered with very low volume animal growl samples ripped off youtube. I'm sure if I layered some crappy fm8 patch I could get a similiar effect but I find that a low volume actual growl adds a nice organic tone to it. https://soundcloud.com/chaotik/layered-growls/s-jzFwz Mass...

Re: Favourite two tunes mixed together?
I was DJing at a birthday party (sort of a poppy crowd), but I played Eminem - Lose Yourself, and Excision & Downlink - Existence VIP together and that went HARD. They really mesh great as tunes, and it combined sort of mainstream songs with a bit of a heavier influence (I basically lowcut the e...

Anyone have a link to the NI RAZOR Downloader?
Hey, I'm sort of at a loss and I hope this is the right place to ask this, but does anyone have a link to the NI razor downloader that they can PM me? I bought a second hand copy of razor (basically just the license), but to register the serial I have I need to get the downloader. The guy who sold m...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
Hey guys, I've got a question. I'm sure somewhere in this thread it has been brought up, but lately I've been overly attached to FM synthesis. It fascinates the fuck out of me. I was wondering if the same concepts of making a reese could be applied to FM synthesis? I've been having a go at it for a...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
Thanks! I dont remember where I got the snare from, but its my most used one hahha. Anything at a slower BPM I use that snare because of its short tail, its great for glitching drums with :) The movement is entirely from a notch filter. But when I was making this reese, I was very, very, very speci...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
I was listening to eastern thug by KOAN Sound on the bus ride home and realized how dynamic the Growl/Reese is. So I tried to remake it. I think the only thing its really missing is some loudness/mastering sound to make it more upfront. I wanna get your guys's thoughts on this. I didn't really know...

Yes I am, I loved that synth in your song! I'd like to see how you made it if you wouldn't mind sharing.
I'm getting some really sick sounds at the moment.

Re: I'm stuck - knife party "whoop" synths
I've been trying for months now to get the whoop sounds knife party uses, but mine sound so weak and bad in comparison. They either sound too thin or lack the harshness in the top end. I've tried everything I can think of - using noise, scream filter and resonance automation, distortion, saws inste...

Re: Skrillex Saws? - (NOT BASS, and not what you think eithe
Thanks. The bouncing to audio tip I hadn't really thought of, and yeah I know layering is key, but my supersaws are never really punchy enough and sound more like pads, and I suppose I'm just looking for tips to give them the power and punch I need.

Skrillex Saws? - (NOT BASS, and not what you think either)
Okay, I'm not a massive fan of skrillex, and all his crazy monster bass sounds, but I love his kind of saw/chordal hit type synths, and I'm really not sure how to make something like it. All my attempts have been supersaw type things, but they don't have anywhere near the punch of what this has. Goo...
