Re: How much can you fit in a mix vs. how much you should?
Brick wall limiting technically cannot 'destroy' all your dynamics. Dynamics in music I believe refers to the difference between the softest and loudest parts of a piece of music, while you may screw over most of your Transients , you don't really lose your dynamics, assuming your track had them in ...

Just want to give the flanger a shoutout, I use FL's stock flanger and the flangus plugins to get these kinda sounds

Also try throwing on a fruity chorus and turning the delay to the minimum, works wonders in certain situations.

Don't post the fucking sound if you're not even gonna shed light on how you made it. Not that I personally want to know, but for other people that might be interested that's a dick move.

Re: Zomboy "Terror Squad" Bass
Steal it from Skrillex, it's what zomboy did... Name one track where Skrillex uses that sound? He uses similar sounds in all is fair, but they're nowhere near as good as terror squad.... Honestly I'm sick and tired of the Zomboy sampling jokes. We get it, he samples thing here and there. Doesn't re...

Re: Skrillex Ragga Bomb
It's either bitspeek or izotope trash he's using to get that sound, I'd wager that it's the former. He uses the same effect on the vocals at 2:01, as well as various other points on the album.

Re: Anyone using Windows 8 and FL Studio 11?
Windows 8 isn't really that much different from previous versions, all the gimmicky stuff really only applies to mobile devices but doesn't really make it any harder to use on a laptop or desktop. FL 11 is running fine for me, haven't had any issues. It's weird not having a start button but you get ...

Obviously he rips them from old games, easiest way to get those kinda samples is to grab a youtube downloader and find a play through with good audio quality of the game you want.

Re: How to make a track sound faster?
It can also come down to sound design and arrangement, for example Kill the Noise part 2 is a drumstep track with very minimal cymbal work going on in the drop yet it feels pretty fast paced due to the arrangement of the basses.

I try not to sound like Zomboy, but it keeps happening. Any criticism I can use for future tracks would be nice.

Re: How do you come up with your songs?
My typical workflow 1) Make weird sounds in mershiev 2) Mash together, insert drums and sub 3) Call it dubstep and hope people will listen But seriously, most of my stuff comes from a pretty simple idea that I fuck with until it sounds good. Most of it will be abandoned for being utter crap, but tha...

Re: Benji - XXIII [110/Dubstep]
Seems to be like the kick is clashing with the bassline a bit, I'd give it a fairly decent sidechain, will help it come through nicely. The bassline would probably sound better with a bit of pumping anyway. I'd also throw a low pass on the bass to cut those nasty highs, and maybe pan some of the cym...

Re: Free EXUDE / MANTIS / SADHU Massive Patches! BEST EVER
They're not bad, It's a bit much too say they sound like someone's first try with massive. Putting 'BEST EVER' in the title is a little pretentious though, they're not really anywhere near the calibre exude, sadhu (and especially) mantis are producing at right now. Let's not start a flame war just b...

Re: help resampling bass like zomboy
All I know is that Zomboy mostly uses Loopmaster packs for his basses now. Search up Dan Larsson. He did a tutorial showing how he made the bass that Zomboy used in Terror Squad. That was one time, one growl. Plus the here to stay loop that someone pointed out. That's hardly 'mostly uses loopmaster...

Re: Is using samples/melody lines cheating?
I think the whole shunning of producers that use samples and melodies they didn't make is kinda dumb. I'm not a fan of it myself, but I've heard some great songs come out using sample pack material. There's a video on youtube with Martin Garrix going over how he made Animals. Most of the track is pr...

Re: Easing the CPU's work load for Production
Take a look at how many of your plugins you actually need. Might be worth bussing things to reduce the amount of EQ's and compressor's you're using. Remember that synths with lots of voices will take up the most cpu, whilst samplers will usually use up ram. Also look up your DAW manual for ways to i...
