Re: Best Synthesis YouTube Channels?
Sound design/synthesis is obviously an integral part of making good quality dubstep so it's something I truly want to master.
You aren't the only one that thinks so. I'm currently on my own quest into sound design and synthesis as well. I've gotten a decent amount of information and ideas from ...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Fuck you guys are posting the shit out of Josh's tutorials. Much love. I'm friends with him. His diarrhea basses are pretty good & he's shown me some fairly good tips within FM8 and sytrus. If your looking to learn EQ modulation for growls, his channel is a pretty solid place to start. Not sure he ...

Re: MUST DIE! Vowel bass help
Well, I found the video in literally 20 seconds. Here: http://www.youtube.com/user/MUSTDIEMUSIC/videos
I believe the video is "Must Die! Writing session 3" but it could be 2. I honestly don't remember. Hope it helps. His sig sound is pretty dope. Surprised he gets 95% of the sound in just massive ...

Re: Before you post a request
I notice most of these posts are just people asking how to make sounds and not a whole lot of posts about how to actually make them. I suggest before you post a request for a specific sounds, go through here: http://www.massivesynth.com/category/tutorials/ and see if you can find what youre looking ...

Sounds a whole lot like the scream filter to me
On massive:
OSC1: Saw wave, formant mode (select up the top right of the osc1 tab). Pitch -36
OSC2: Square wave, pitch -24
Filter 1: Scream
Set an envelope on the cutoff freq with attack at about 10-11 o clock, from all the way shut to all the way ...

Re: FX like Sorrow/Stumbleine/Submerse etc.
I made a thunderstorm in one of my older wip's. Look for already recorded samples of things like that and put them inside your DAW. You might have to do some more audio treatment to but for the most part just a little bit of EQ'ing and maybe compression and you've got yourself some nice real sound ...

Re: Resampling - Why?
I didn't read all the posts here but I have a really simple technique. (for ableton live)
1. Insert MIDI notes to the instrument that you want to resample.
2. Freeze the track by right clicking and clicking on the "freeze track" option.
3. Create a new audio track.
4. CTRL drag the frozen midi ...

@ jagge72 Search up some of SeamlessR's tutorials on youtube, I think you'll find what you're looking for.
His growls are good but he mostly does vowel basses , and the vocoder can eat the life out of your computer (Unless you have a tower). The bass from that Let's Pretend sounds like something ...

Re: FL Studio Wobble Bass Tutorial (non-brostep)
Nice tutorial. You seemed to explain everything well. But I'd have to disagree with the "but almost nothing on youtube to help people create something that sounds like it" part. When I used FL Studio and learned to make a wobble I watched a quicker and easier tutorial than this using 3xOsc. This is ...

1. The word I ran through about 1,5 second reverb, 100% wet, then reverse this and time it up with the end of desired bars, so the effect is that they 'pull' into the next part.
2. They most definetely used volume automation with an lfo (ramp shaped), and later in the song the same on a cutoff on ...

I've been trying to step up my game as well but the progress is so slow it's almost not there. All these tips/techniques on creating sounds. I just don't even know. It's almost at the ...
