Need new external sound card
Heyo! My "M-Audio Fast Track Mk II" is not sufficient anymore because I now need a soundcard that can deliver audio to RCA and headphones (3.5mm or tele) simultaneously. The "Fast Track" mutes the RCA output when I connect headphones and the sound card is hidden away in a box so ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
Here is the first main part of a new song I am working on. Any feedback is really super welcome! :W: :W: Here is the first mix: https://soundcloud.com/adaofficialmusic/ada-lanes-original-mix-work-in Some questions: - Is the intro too monotonous for you guys? I like simplistic and repeating stuff (Ph...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@ dca: That sub is so fucking huge and awesome in my AKGs. LOL insanity. :O :W: love it. @ dotcurrency: Very funky. Kinda reminds me of some Feed Me stuff with all the synths/pads going on. The arpeggios and samples are really that kind of style too. Digging the song really well! Noticed I was noddi...

Soviet House Mafia - Tetris
I made a parody of Swedish House Mafia of one of the theme songs from Tetris (Korobeiniki).

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@ Eye-siC Cool tune! Everything is mixed pretty nice. You can hear all elements very well and the bassy arp thingie really adds lots of tension. Kinda hard to give any good feedback since I think it sounds so nice. :D @ Crimsonghost I like this track. Some really cool feelings and stuff. Sounds like...

Ada's quick tip numero uno: _Don't follow "the rules"_ if you don't know why you are doing it (if you can't hear it then it's not there until you can hear it). Ada's quick tip numero duo: _Use your own ears and your own brain_ and then experiment the shit out of any instrument, synth, EQ, ...

Re: Closed headphones for producing/mixing?
I decided to go for the AKG K550. :-) I tried them abit and they sounded amazing for being closed. I'll test them abit more when I get my own pair (ordered from amazon.co.uk... takes 1-2 weeks with delivery to Sweden and I got them really cheap compared to what they go for in Sweden) and if anyone i...

Closed headphones for producing/mixing?
Didn't want to bump some very old thread so I decided to make a new one for recommendations about closed headphones. I'm moving together with someone this autumn and my DT990s leak too much. I basically need some good headphones that leak very little (I like to listen at quite high volumes). And as ...

Re: Today's electronic music
Who cares if the arrangement or sound design is advanced as shit when there are no emotions? "Derp derp no arrangement derp no music derp".. Good music is not defined by arrangement, sound design or "bass lines". :6: I love Philip Glass for instance. He made some of my favourite ...

Re: Some mastering Techniques I've personally used.
Yep, subjectively a change in x dB will sound essentially the same regardless, but mathematically speaking the change in power is dependent on the original level. Although it's not perfectly linear and frequency affects the perception of loudness change. You could probably hear pretty minute change...

Re: Some mastering Techniques I've personally used.
It's pretty damn hard to hear even a 3dB change in the whole mix let alone just in a certain bandwidth of a mix. I doubt any human is capable of picking out a 0.5dB change in overall volume. Even more impossible when it's just an EQ cut. If you think you can discern the improvement of that small of...

Re: Mixdown tips for allowing elements to punch thru
I guess I just do the standard stuff. Don't know if others do this but I usually do low and high cutting by cutting very high highs and very low lows with a non-resonant filter (direct cut) and then using a resonant filter to make it sound smoother while still getting rid of _everything_. I used Fa...

I'm in! I have been thinking about streaming myself producing for a long time but I didn't know if anyone would be interested. I'm kinda amateurish too so not sure if you folk would learn anything.

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
Thanks mthrfnk! Hmm really interesting about the pitch slide. I've never thought of it as "out of tune" (more like "dissonance" to add some feeling) but I think I understand what you're talking about now. Thanks for pointing that out though! Really thankful. =) Just realised I n...
