try a saw with the intensity set to "formant" on top of 1 or 2 other saws with the octave pitched down. Then a little distortion afterwards. that should do the trick No matter how many times or how many different ways I try it, I can't seem to get anywhere close to the sound in the sample...

Thanks. So what exactly does the sine shaper do to the waveform to give it that? Another technique I've used is bend but it's almost never dramatic enough. I'm still trying to recreate that synth and I just can't get it to sound good, let alone close to that. Is there a name for this kind of abrasiv...

it's just a hoover with pitch going down (mine is going up) and ADSR set so it sounds like a pluck.
