Re: Sound Design & Song Improvising w/o Controller
Honestly I feel Like that depends on your DAW. That doesn't sound that difficult on Ableton or Reason, but it might be a pain in Reaper or Pro Tools.

Drum Samples VS Synthesis
Do you guys prefer using drum samples/breaks or synthesis?
Like if you had to only do one or the other forever?

I always figured that the genre was just for DJs to be able to label their sets,
as far as music goes you don't really know what you've got until its finished.

Re: Trappy-808 Sub Kicks - Audio or Midi??
You are making it a little more complicated then it has to be, at least your post makes it sound like you have to commit to one or the other. Do as much processing as you can in midi, then flatten that bad boy and mess with the audio to taste. If I had to guess what the difference you're talking abo...

Re: Facebook/soundcloud promotion etiquette
Asking for comments/follows without knowing anything about the other person is probably the worst. Either that or seeing someone who has 1000+ followers with no tracks having over 1000 plays, or having tracks with over 1000 plays and like six followers.

Mixture of both. You can make some pretty cool sounding basses by dropping Lowpass filters on leads and pads and things of that nature.

Why no love for the Monotribe? I wasn't the biggest fan of the Volca series and I feel like you might get more out of a Monotribe or Waldorf Rocket.

Re: How to send music to a label?
Can't really speak to labels but as far as YouTube Channels go, make sure what you're making is in line with the channel, and also (if you don't already) have your own youtube channel with some of your stuff so that you have a presence there already. No youtube channel or label wants to be completel...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@murky1 I like the vibe and the build up but the drop is a little underwhelming. I would recommend using some sort of saturator or boost to bring the levels up on your main bass there. Also a little more movement would be nice, there isn’t much that changes towards the end of the track. @KosmonautOf...

Hey guys, I'm Jon.
I was on the boards awhile back (before the refresh) but after lurking the boards for awhile I'm back to contribute as much as I've gotten.

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
urbannerd62- There were some places where I felt like it was off beat, but it wasn't. Trippy effect, I know that's not easily accomplished. I think I would have liked to see another synth line or something in that middle section to give it more power. Eye-siC- That synth line was great and the kick'...

Re: FL Studio Moblie or Caustic 2?
No demo for FL Studio Moblie, and dumping 20.00 for a tab app I wouldn't end up using if I didn't like it doesn't sound good either.

FL Studio Moblie or Caustic 2?
Hey DSF, long time no see. Anyway I've been looking for something to groove on when I'm not at home and can't really setup my laptop. I have a galaxy tab and I saw that FL Studio is there and I've just recently heard about Caustic 2. Which one would be better suited to someone wanting to work out id...

Re: Thinking of buying Maschine...which ninjas are using it.
I have a Maschine (Mikro), a Launchpad, and a APC40. I use the APC 40 all of the time. I keep the Launchpad in my backpack for when I'm out and about and want to work on something. The Maschine is at a friends house, and I'm not even that interested in going to get it. But I'm pretty sure you (Wub) ...
