Re: There's so much dubstep hate out there right now

it shouldnt bother me. There is so much quality stuff out there and so many new releases coming up.. If your friends/people don't bother, why would you? I personally don't try to convert people. Even if someone asks me, I don't expect anyone to be as excited as I am about a genre. If they are, grea...

Re: how do you approach new genres?

so my tip is: listen to the latest house tracks on beatport or similar sites to get a feel for the genre. Your shitting me right ? no. why ? because it's mainstream? those producers know what they are doing. there is nothing wrong with getting a feel for the genre by just listening to what is selli...

Re: how do you approach new genres?

just like many edm producers say: always be open and listen to all kinds of music. sticking to just one genre exclusively doesn't exactly broaden your horizon if you know what i mean. so my tip is: listen to the latest house tracks on beatport or similar sites to get a feel for the genre. from a pro...

Re: Beginners

dubstep or brostep, doesn't matter really. as long as you dig the track it it's fine. for me it then just has to be good production-wise.

Re: the hero/idol mentality

i used to idolize edm producers until i realized that they can't produce until retirement. so i'm happy with my job and don't have to fear about what to do later in life.

I meant up to 12 occasionally back in the dnb age. For dubstep you'd usually only need 3 max.

Yeah it's either an eq problem or you need more compression on the snares or drums.
