Thanks for the tips, I'm currently trying more drum variation with a new track I'm working on. I think I'll be able to slowly break those old habits

Heh, I generally do use the same beat throughout the whole track for most of my stuff :D Thanks for listening :D I used to record all my beats from my synth, so they were all audio, but I'm trying to move away from that and using midi programmed beats now, to force myself to stop using the same beat...

Here's another new track I finished a few days ago. This one has a quirky vibe, but other than that I'm not sure how to classify it

I do prefer the more chilled out progressive vibe, but I do feel that not all my tracks need to be this lon...

I think I know what you bean by the catching up critique though; a lot of this was actually played by hand, and it's been a while since I last played keyboards, so I guess I'm still a little rusty

Having a real drummer is the ultimate win IMO, however it does also add a lot more complications (I believe the OP mentioned some of those). I always like the idea of having a fully live Drum & Bass/Dubstep BAND, where there are no backing tracks at all and everything is played by people. Hopefu...

Filth is good though

This is something I always think about and I'd love to buy loads of gear to do a proper live show. A possible idea is to have Ableton running on the laptop for the backing track, and then just selectively mute whatever you'll be performing live. I'm not too clued up on Ableton, so I'm not sure exact...

Really liking the dark vibe on this. It does sound a bit busy and chaotic, but then I get the impression that this is how it's supposed to sound. I like it. Then again, I am into lots of crazy dark shit

The track as a whole is sounding pretty good with some nice melodies, however the main bass line sounds a bit underwhelming IMO - maybe try dirtying it up with a bit of distortion and having it a bit louder in the mix? Aside from that, nice work
