Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@subfect - Old school feel, I like it. @Rejinx - Very creepy atmosphere. I could see this song on the main screen music of a video game. @Blak - Pleasant simplistic variety in the intro. Once the energy picked up I thought it was awesome. I am trying to improve my mixing and composition. I have a te...

Re: Son of Tuna NEW THEME IS UP
Now my write up on why it fits the theme. I decided to start with a descending chord progression so that it would feel like the notes are moving away from it's roots. I tried to make it sound a little sad and whiny due to being abandoned. I also decided to go with simple drums because I feel that ha...

Re: Son of Tuna (the thread formerly known as Tuna Week)
So I have been losing a bunch of sleep composing songs for this. I finally settled on one and am now starting the mixing process. My mixing skills are not where I would like them to be but that is why I am participating. I wanted the foundation of the song to feel abandonded so I started with a desc...

Re: Reducing the eye strain of computer use
There are glasses designed to prevent eyestrain. They were meant for gaming but can still serve their purpose in this situation. I do not have personal experience with these but I have heard through one of my friends that they do work well for eyestrain. Check em out: http://www.gunnars.com/what-are...

Re: Why your music sounds different outside of your DAW
@ill mindset: I would say if you are not recording then it should not matter. The quality settings only affect the speaker output.
@Gurnumsbug: I only found this out recently as well while I was experiencing rendering issues in FL so don't feel too late.

Re: Why your music sounds different outside of your DAW
Another thing that is good to check is the "Advanced" tab under the Speakers Properties and check the quality setting. I thought everything I was rendering from FL sounded so bad until I configured those settings. After that the .wav I rendered sounded just like it did in FL. Check this th...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@SMOR3S: At first I thought it sounded kinda funky but then the beat kicked in and it had me moving. The bars where the kick builds up didn't do it for me and just when I thought "that vocal sample feels out of place." That feeling of wanting to move came back :) @Ocelots Revolver: It'll b...

Re: Son of Tuna (the thread formerly known as Tuna Week)
Hello, I am new to this forum. This is my second post, I have been lurking for a while though. I have just been waiting for the right moment to join in and I wanted to participate in Son of Tuna, so this moment feels right. I will try to make a tune that feels so abandoned that your speakers literal...

Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here
Hello, I am Ape Lust. I have been a lurker on this forum for about a year now. I don't know what I would do without this forum. I have decided to step up my game and try to get myself noticed. I mainly want to do it for the motivation it provides me, not for attention. Currently my productions are m...
