certain sounds
Does anyone one here have any useful links as to how certain common sounds we have heard in our life are made? For example TV test tones, dial tones, sirens etc.. it would be interesting to have a page that has a breakdown of what simple waveforms are used in society to make certain sounds and tones...

absynth 808
How do i edit a monotone patch in absynth such as one of the 808 presets, so that I can let it play at different notes across the keyboard? (without just sampling it into a sampler)
peace.
peace.

my suggestion for new producers without one is to get an audio interface.. that makes a difference.

Re: Snares and Eq
yo,
I was wondering is there any way you can cut a frequency off at a certain point eliminating the higher frequencies without a curve in the EQ line? I mean like, could you cut it off directly at a certain frequency so that the EQ line goes directly vertical instead of tapering off diagonally? peace

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
just a thought, what about using sound generators to give more depth to a bass, and integrating it into a group with your main bass sound to give it a oneness? Using such as metaphysical function in reaktor, but of course it would take some getting used to and expertise in the generator maybe?

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Well, although I haven't gotten into experimenting with it much, I think one of the basic growls going on these days in the "dubstep" scene is simply Sine modulation with a triangle wave and 10th formant with maybe some sawtooth thrown into it, however you wanna get the sound or whatever, ...

well, modulating things through a operator set at 0.00 ratio and 0.00 hz seems to make things somewhat clearer

On FM8
I have been working with FM8 lately, and I have a few questions, feel free to lend some advice or whatever. Okay so I get some good sounds going in FM8 for a bass, the initial sound is okay, but really, there seems to be too much "fuzz" to make the cut for a track. Yeah, I have tried turni...

Re: question involving parameters in massive
well yeah, obviously, it just feels better for some ideas, cuz it is feeding back into the sound... it's like giving it more dimension.. just saying.

Re: question involving parameters in massive
well, to me it sounds less "watered down" I guess than just trying to rely on one volume control (or two counting that in the vst), adds more substance sorta feel? more surface or something.. anyways.. makes me wonder how many bus set ups pro's really use these days in a given song, that s...

Re: question involving parameters in massive
eh i figured it wouldn't work out that way.. I just discovered something though kind of, if you have a track and turn up the send to return track A without anything on return track A, it gives you some extra oompf, it seems like a more legit way to get some extra volume without clipping the f out of...

question involving parameters in massive
Just wondering, is there any possible way to automate the amount of LFO used on a knob? like the length of circumference of the green/gray line around a knob when you put the lfo number in place. If not, is there something similar to do to make that effect? The only thing I really can think of doing...

Re: How to soften distortion?
split equing into bands if that is your thing, but mainly using a send/receive set up for your distortion could be ideal in that you can change the amount of the distortion plug as a whole applied to the instrument, other than that, though to soften it up, just run something after the distortion tha...

important question
Does sound card quality and actual hardware specs effect how something will sound when recorded inside ableton live? I don't mean from a microphone, but recording tracks through the mixing process (bouncing) as well as the final export.. thanks.

Re: Texan schoolgirl expelled for refusing to wear RFID tag
if people would wise up, theyd realise the bible isnt just a symbolic refernce book. Mark of the beast will probably be a mark, from a claw, of a beast like nothing you've ever seen before. something like a man turned into a lab experiment, or something. check out those donut head injection things, ...

Re: Texan schoolgirl expelled for refusing to wear RFID tag
people are fucking STUPID if they are ruling this type of thing as the mark of the beast. probably a feminist. anyways, mark of the beast is a physical mark, on the forehead or right hand, not a fucking chip on a lanyard around your neck. she should have just changed school / started private school
