Speaking of influence mate, you wouldn't happen to have been under it when you wrote this?
But yeah, I get what you mean. Sometimes I'll draw inspiration from a story or a character in a TV-show or something.

Re: The Intro Thread
My newest thing intro wise: Create a WHOLE other track for the frist 32-64 bars. Rob swire likes to do this type of stuff: -video x2- other producers do it too, his stuff just came into my mind first lol. i usually just pick a genre (electro, trance, hiphop) with my first track coming in fullon the...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
Don't really have a WIP but I listened to your tune MassAphekt and I gotta say it's sounding pretty good. Although I do think you could probably step it up a bit. I feel that for the build before the drop it's a little bit empty in the higher frequencies. The synth carrying the melody isn't really b...

Re: District - Transmission - Production Walkthrough
Pretty interesting. The part where he uses the crash cymbal as the reverb on the snare is clever, hadn't thought of that. Haven't gotten to the bass resampling yet, that's obviously the exciting part but pretty good find so far man. Nice.

Re: FL Studio mixing problem
Right click the fader, click the "link to controller" option, click reset and then accept. Should unlink it from any automations. Then either delete the "init song position" event in the browser or set a new init value.

Re: How to make a Zedd vocal daft punk-ish bass?
I'm almost certain this is NI Razor. Has some really clean formant oscillators that can sound a lot like this with some simple modulation. It's stupid easy making a formant bass in that synth. Pretty cool synth overall.

Re: Producers with rentals: How do you avoid noise complaint
I keep my volumes down for the most part, good for ears and neighbour-relations. I maintain dialogue and see if I bother anyone, if I do I bring it down. It's useful for me as well. Can always listen in earphones if there's a crisis. (Not saying its working tho lol :c)

Re: "Panning" Drums (Emphasis on "")
With a real drum kit your going to have cymbals and toms on both sides of the stereo feild because of mic placement and the way that drum kits are set up. The only thing that will ever be centered are kick and snare. And you really shouldn't be listening to anything past There only chasing safety. ...

Re: Ninja Tempo Switchups (DJ:ing)
What I find works well is find a tune that has a remix in a different tempo with a decent length of sample before the drop. I remember going from dubstep to "drumstep" using Diplo and Datsik's Pick Your Poison. Mix in the original mix with what's playing, let the first drop play, cue up F...

Ninja Tempo Switchups (DJ:ing)
Okay dudes, got a gig coming up in a couple weeks and it's not really a hardcore dubstep joint so I'mma be playing a lot of house to kick it off, then drop down to some moombahcore/110 bpm shit for a while and then start working my way up to some 140 and beyond for the final part so I can get most o...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Man it's a regular Swedish Dub Mafia up in here huh? Yeah that 'synthesize vowel information' confused me as well. I've always been unclear on the concept of FM synthesis and growls, what parameter to actually modulate to get the growling bit. I'm guessing you automate one of the modulators inside t...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Hm. I've always used bad fm8 patches with bad ohmicide settings. I never thought about using decent ones so now I tried it and it works great! https://soundcloud.com/smile-god-loves-you/here-to-stay-rmx-pre-drop Thanks Big ups man, that's tight. I need to get on that remix too. Where you located bt...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Sometimes I let my opinion on the producer cloud my opinion of their songs, which (in my opinion) just isn't right. If someone makes a great song, I'll enjoy that song, regardless of who produced it, what they are like, or what they were doing at the time :P But thats just me. Anyways back to the m...

Fuck man... I bought the re-release of the Prodigy's Fat of The Land album at the weekend to play in my car, I actually didn't realise it came with a remix EP - Alvin Risk's remix of Firestarter is okay... like just okay then I heard PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPWEPEWE FDV XDBJGVB XNSV over bi...

Alvin fucking Risk sitting there, he's pisses me off - he always seems to be around Skrillex just living off his success, he's an okay producer at best, his last few songs I've heard have been pretty shit tbf and he looks like a tnuc. -tnuc- I agree with you so strongly I can't even express it any ...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
You meant 5x worse right? All a vocoder will do, is it'll make your signal sound muddy as shit. Never use a vocoder. You really think so though? I'm not saying you're wrong, a lot of your growls are dope but sometimes I think that a vocoder can really beef up the low/low mids and make a sound reall...

Re: EZDrummer...
He's probably processing the samples afterwards. In their Future Music video, Noisia said they used Superior Drummer (the premium version of EZDrummer) so I guess it obviously has SOME use to these guys. The use imo is that you can effectively mimic real drums, and in the case of Noisia they were p...
