Re: Time:30 New Mungha track

any suggestions on how to get that getter"kick, and downlink snare like in emergency would be awesome. - eqing in the mix wise. (there is actually 6 samples layered in that song on the snare - but also I forgot to lengthen the midi notes lol...the next track is ft. a local rapper and It should...

ZSHWN - Spacers

Evening ladies and gents, threw together a track with a sorta spacey vibe and would love to hear thoughts. Thanks in advance for listening! :4:

Re: Could use some feedback on my latest track!

Lamb of God! Very nice. This is actually really big, I do think the beginning bit drags a little but it picks up quite a bit later. I'm headbobbing quite a bit during the middle. I think there should be a bit more contrast between some of the sections, maybe cut the drums for a while. I like the lat...

Re: What's missing? New 175Bpm tune

This is sounding pretty tight actually, I like the kick and snare presence. I feel like it could use some strings... Maybe some that swell up and fade away over the course of a few bars. Actually listening to it more I think it could use a nice sustained melody that comes in around 1:00 that drives ...

Re: Time:30 New Mungha track

Agreed, this is quite wicked. Agreed again, this time with the soundcloud commenter that complimented them modulations. My concern is that the kick and snare don't slap as much as I would like them too, I would enjoy it more if they were driving a bit more. Maybe consider putting more in between the...

Re: Need help on pad

Yeah it's really the vocal that gives it the character. Try to find a vocal sample of someone going "ooh" or "aah" and chuck it into a sampler, detune a bunch and lowpass, layer that with some really detuned saw waves, lowpass those too and you should be getting somewhere. Find r...

Re: ChromePlated-by Wikidill

Great piano, the wows accompanying it are very nice as well. They complement each other well. There's an awkward peak at like 0:45 but doesn't really bother me. Whoa, lots of weight on those bass sounds, very nice. I'd say lay off the heavy drums in the break section, seems like the drummer is tryin...

Re: New Dubstep Track, What do you think?

Sweet intro section, I like the melody. Normally I would scoff at the Vader quote but it totally works with that massive lead synth. Love that wow wow wow at 1:46 lol, great way to transition to the nicer part. Oh man the R2D2 stuff works super well! Sounds awesome! As a whole, I think the song's me...

Re: florianmusic - Agonizing Cry

Nice tight drums, sit well with the lead synth. The wraaw synth could use more impact though, I think it needs a dedicated sub and maybe turn down the arps so it doesn't have to compete with them. The next section is quite nice, agreed with SemTex about the vocals too. I think with the main drop you...

Four Tet is out of control. That Grimes remix is the best track I've heard in months. You came pretty close with that remake, groove wise. :W:

Re: I'd really like to make a dubstep track like this.

Instead of lecturing you on things like making your own style of song and how electro house with random bass sounds is not dubstep I'll leave you with the results of a google search: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2XpyNYB11U and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjbcMHcGh1w I'm not the best at them by...

Re: The Share A Synthesis Sound Design Tip

A really interesting thing I came across involves using a sampler to introduce waveforms. Yes, you're essentially creating your own single cycles to use as waveforms. You can also draw them in some synths. You can draw them in Renoise. You can also download some from this website: http://www.advent...

Re: The Share A Synthesis Sound Design Tip

A really interesting thing I came across involves using a sampler to introduce waveforms. It goes like this: - Find a source, could be literally anything at all, vocals, field recordings, your favorite Miles Davis tune - Zoom and cut a second or two of audio - Chuck it into a sampler - Loop it and m...

Re: Holy crap!

I'm not big on brostep or anything but I think in terms of the scene Xilent's one of the better ones. His drums are pretty bog standard though, any track on UKF has the same style of kick and snare but I've always been interested in his melodies and creative sound design. He said in an interview a w...
