burial is all samples.

Squelch bass synth common in techno

I need help making a squelching type mid range synth/bass

it's not completely dubstep but i've heard a few tunes use them before
more a uk techno kinda thing

yeah i dunno I got well temper mental with the bass cos it kinda flaps over each other and isn't very pleasant on the low end but i could do some work to it ...

^ could be. try that out. also try square waves in the sub range (which is inexact and ill-defined but imo/ime, is approximately D#0 - D1). or since your in massive, check out the Duckorgan and Inharmonic wavetables. I've had good luck with those for this sort of sound.

I've been trying loads of different techniques, adding different stuff to an 808 bass, but it never feels as heavy and raw, but still futuristic and new as the Kahn and Wen kinda basses

Anyone got any idea on how to make these kinda basses and what to add to them?
