i just mix w/ my headphones and i have the vol. at the max i'd ever listen to tunes regularly,,,,already gotten used to the low vol. of my mixes on my cans so there isn't a need anymore to turn up the vol.

ok and i don't play all day like I used to. i usually just go outside , bike or something then near dusk i head inside and game, somedays when i'm ill which is atm i will stay inside and just play, or when i'm too lazy to do anything else that uses up some physical energy
