Eptic is a BOSS

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3xOK-h-d_g#t=1m10s Time tagged for your convenience. I'm working on recreating that sound. Anyone know what they would call it even. I'm using Massive as my weapon of choice as well as ohmicide, camel phat and ableton's saturator, overdrive, and amp. I got the amp env...

Re: Production P.E.M.D.A.S- The order of effects

I grab an instrument rack and I split it into 4 channels: Dry signal, low band, mid, high. I usually Add light saturation and compression to the low. I also make the low mono. I sidechain the kick to the low band, so there isn't any gain reduction in the rest of the sound. I fill the mid range up wi...

I haven't learned FM8 yet because I don't like how it looks. Reminds me of Microsoft Excel.

Re: Order Of Processing

Also, when doing subtractive EQing, although you may have taken out the frequencies you don't like, your sound may be thin. It is important to add a compressor right after the EQ to fatten it up and bring out the sounds you do like :D Bring out the sounds you like? Why did you just remove them with...

Re: Do people actually use midi controllers to produce?

I use mine in Ableton to record automation for certain parameters. I might then touch up the automation envelopes with my mouse to perfect it. Are MIDI controllers needed to produce? Absolutely not, but if you wanna jam then hell yeah!

Re: Best sample packs for Dubstep?

BHK Samples are pretty good. there's this one for example: http://bhksamples.com/product/premium-drumz/ Those sound sick. I swear by Vengeance samples, 808s, 909s, and sometimes rip my own from metal tracks. The good thing about some of these sample packs is that they sound good without necessarily...

I personally like to eat lemons and chain vape my e-cigarette while I produce. The nicotine helps me stay focused and the lemons are good for you!
