Traktor only plays backing track... WTF?!
Ok so I got a new speaker to DJ with (JBL Eon 515xt) yes, just one. I can't afford two yet. So I got a cable that has two 1/4" jacks on one end, and one 1/4" jack on the other end. I plugged both 1/4" connectors into the L and R outputs on my Traktor S2 Controller, and the single 1/4&...

Dirty Club/Hip-Hop songs for a party I'm DJing
Need help guys! I barely listen to hip hop, but I've got a gig this weekend and they want me to play Hip Hop/Rap stuff. "Music you can grind to" is what they said. I know this isn't really a dubstep related topic but you guys have never failed to give me good advice so I thought I'd ask he...

Re: PA Speakers ~$500
Also, I see that most of these speakers use XLR inputs. My DJ controller "Traktor S2" has red and white RCA outputs. How do I get the audio into the speakers? Do I need an interface? Using preamped speakers by the way. No external amp.

Where to find free horn section samples?
I've been looking for some horn samples/horn vst plugins. Big band style, this type of sound: Tower of Power: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfj8zxGos10 Curtis Mayfield: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z66wVo7uNw If there are any good ones for free that'd be cool. If not, what are some with a good b...

Re: PA Speakers ~$500
Hahaha I see. Those look pretty perfect. What would you suggest for a sub in the future? I'm guessing it's more important to avoid skimping on a sub, so I'm willing to pay a bit more for them. But I might be wrong about that idk.

Re: PA Speakers ~$500
Thanks for the informative reply drake! By fart you mean sub I'm assuming. Never heard that one before, but then again I'm new to this. How difficult is it to build a speaker. What exactly do you have to do? I'm guessing you just buy the speaker and build the cabinet around it out of... I don't know...

Re: PA Speakers ~$500
Yeah some of the frats and sororities have speakers, but not all of them. Plus, I'd rather build up my own system that I know works, and sounds good than rely on someone else's setup. What do you guys think about using one speaker to start with? And why wouldn't I need a sub? I'm confused.

I'll be playing frat/sorority parties mostly. Rooms of probably... 300 max. I use Traktor, and the S2 controller, i...

Re: Which DAW is worth learning 1st?
Ableton is great for me. Pretty straightforward if you're used to using software. And a WHOLE lot of people use it, so there's a large knowledge base to help you out when you get stuck/want to learn something new.

M Machine - "Faces" Vocal Effect?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvIYod5mMc8 Anyone know what vocal effects are being used at :27 into the video? I hear two vocal parts, but there is also an effect being used. Just saw these guys live, and was struck by this vocal effect. Actually sounded way thicker/better live but... doesn't every...

Haha, thank you! No releases yet, hoping to get some soon :) Just followed you on SoundCloud. Let me know brotha :) There is a nob named Wt - position in the osc section. Re: NI Massive Question: Click noise at beginning of note
Wow thanks for all the replies guys! Yes Envelope 3 is my Amp envelope, it's usually 4, but this time I'm using 3. And my attack is all the way up. I've tried a bunch of different things with the ADSR settings and nothing seems to work. Sinestepper's diagnosis seems interesting. How do I change the ...

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm using envelope 3 and the attack is all the way up. Sorry I posted in the wrong section. If one of the mods could move it that'd be great.

NI Massive Question: Click noise at beginning of note
I'm using NI Massive in Ableton, making a sub/dub bass sound. Using Sin Tri, Vulgar, Math II. When I play a note with my midi controller, or with my computer keyboard (or any other way) I get an annoying click at the beginning of each note. I've googled this and found several articles on this site. ...
