Re: Sioux - Ship Down (Deep/Dark)

hah! Glad you like the vibe man! Yeah the mix down, more specifically the drums, is the main thing that has been critiqued with this track so that is something I'll definitely need to pay more attention to.

I get what you're saying :) Will be sure to pay more attention to detail in mix downs in the future. Appreciate you taking the time to comment :4:

Re: 93tilinfinity - Trench [135bpm]

Really digging that phat bass line! Got a kind of a jumpy/glitchy feel to it too with those hats and that clap/snare. Pretty mellow feel to it too from that bass which I quite liked.

My opinions, for what they're worth :)

Re: Vectu - Devil in the cellar (140)

Really interesting vibe of this track, quite liking the subtle but noticeable switch up in the bass lines can't say there's anything idea wise that I actively dislike other than being a bit repetitious with the stabs and would maybe add a bit of reverb to the snare. On a technical note I would prob...

Re: Sciatica-Cosmos (Chill/Dark)

The stuff is right up my street! :D Both the ideas and production qualities are pretty appealing to my tastes :W: The only things that I would zero-in on would be snare sounding a bit too hollow (bass drowning the low ends of it perhaps?) and the "Yoi" bass sound that popped up a few times...

Interesting and enjoyable take on it and stays pretty true to the vibe of the original :)

Re: Chai Chai - Freeze Bee

Quite an enjoyable track to listen to :) Production qualities are quite tight in my opinion; clear and punchy drum and the low-mids of the snare aren't being drowned out which is nice. Reecey/bro-esque bass has a clean distortion (if that makes sense?) and isn't peaking like a mo'fo' so kudos on the...

Re: Hashkey - MkUltra (Deep Dubstep Tempa)

Really enjoying the flow of this track. There's not much I can critique about it except a bit more reverb to create a larger/more hollow atmosphere would have been nice. That's just a personal preference on atmosphere though.

Re: Vectu - Despair (140bpm)

Really like the sound design in bassline in the second drop. What I would maybe say would be to mix it up a bit (drums, bass, FX, whatever you think would sound good) to keep it moving and interesting.

Re: Vectu - Bounce (142bpm)

Really interesting track and enjoyable too. The percussion is probably the most striking element in this track and I think it being at 142bpm as opposed to 140bpm makes it work even better. The accompanying sounds in the background really compliment the percussion, kinda like the "icing on the ...

Re: Sioux - Identity (Deep/Reggae-ish)

You think? I thought it would be a bit too upbeat for a lounge mix but I appreciate the feedback regardless :)

Left a comment on the track in your signature there and was listening to a few of your other tracks. Really digging the trance-esque melodies that you've got in your tracks :W:

Really feeling this track! :D The wobble is maybe a bit too tear-out for my liking but the pace and timbres are really nice. Also liking the Scarface sample :)

Re: Different releases on different mediums (Downloads + CDs

I did mean that but was responding to you saying "as the producer/artist meant for them to be heard" in your first post. Oh okay, apologies for not picking up on that :Q: Both. compilation implies mix imo. I do want to reiterate what I said before though that if you prefer to listen to un...

Re: Different releases on different mediums (Downloads + CDs

the vast majority of this sort of music is written with the express intention that it will only be listened to mixed Did you not mean the intention of the artist when you used the word "intention" here? I was just pointing out that it is likely that the music was meant to be listened to m...

Re: Different releases on different mediums (Downloads + CDs

you did have options, they were to buy the cd and get the mix or buy the download and get all the tracks plus the mix. Yeah I understand what you're saying. Just something I had never come across before and went against my expectations which is what spurred the disappointment and confusion. No real...

Re: Different releases on different mediums (Downloads + CDs

Surely Dubstep is designed to be heard mixed. This goes for all dance music really. I would agree if I were listening to dance music at a club/show but outside of these I prefer to be able to listen to them on their own, especially if I had paid good money for the privilege of listening to (or so I...

Re: Different releases on different mediums (Downloads + CDs

They've kind of (in my opinion) cut corners but doing the two at the same time; I still get to choose an individual track but it has been mixed in with the previous track at the start and the next track at the end. If there are those two different versions available then they haven't explicitly stat...

Different releases on different mediums (Downloads + CDs)?

Okay so I recently bought the CD of the Get Darker Presents: This is Dubstep 2011 compilation and was quite disappointed and surprised when listening through it to hear that some parts on some of the songs were missing on their respective track files due to have them having been mixed at the end of ...
