Anyone know any cool synth/sequencer/daw apps?

Is there a way to change what note a sample is rooted to? When you import a sample and open the piano roll, it is automatically a C. This doesn't make sense. If the sample is a G, I'd have to move the note down to B to get an F#. How can this be fixed?

Loudness isn't the be all end all of a good tune. If you mixdown properly it'll sound good, regardless of volume. Soundcloud does cut down the volume above certain decibels, so that may be the problem. If a big label has better sounding tracks, it's probably because they are mastered better. Or mayb...

I'm confused about which is which. I've never used these before, and I want to figure it out. If I want to get rid of high frequencies, is that a low pass? And vice versa, or the other way around? Also, what plugins do you suggest for these filters?
