Re: Is signing to small labels worth it?
Thanks for the advice guys. I politely turned them down. I figured as I already have artwork, promo channel contacts, and can use Tunecore or CD Baby if I want to start selling stuff, I didn't really have much to gain from it.

Is signing to small labels worth it?
Basically, I recently got contacted by a site advertising themselves as a 'brand-new record label'. I was naturally pretty wary since I know there are a lot of startups around the web that aren't really of any value. They did however send me a very nicely formatted contract, and said that releases w...

Background on soundcloud waveform

Nothing to do with the song, but the background on the waveform. How does one put backgrounds on their sounds?
I have a pro unlimited account (if that's necessary).

From Skrillex - Kill Everybody. The chords first heard at 1:25. I've tried using detuned saws in Massive, but my attempts always come out a bit weak and cheesy-sounding to my ears. Any help?

Re: dubstep wobble help
First off, I would sidechain all your basses to your kick, as the kick is not cutting through at all at the moment. For the basses, try using multiband compression (from ozone or elsewhere) to fatten them up.

At 0:30, there is a sort of rising siren noise that I'm having a difficult time trying to recreate. I've tried Massive's comb and scream filters amongst other things, and haven't even got close. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Having trouble getting sub to audible frequency.
Make the sub with an FM synth, add a little sine modulation to add a few upper harmonics.

Making a screetchy noise
From Skrillex's Breakn' A Sweat, at 0:30. A sort of formant screetching noise. I've tried replicating it with the scream filter in Massive, as well as with formant leads, but it just doesn't cut it.
Any help? Thanks

Skrillex - Recess (what happened?)
So after a long period of silence, Skrillex has sprung his LP, Recess, upon the world. As a huge Skrillex fan myself, I couldn't wait to hear it. But then I listen, and all I can really think is... what the hell happened? Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for innovation. I wasn't expecting a rinse and...

Launchpad/ASIO suddenly not working
Hi guys, So basically, I've been using a Novation Launchpad S for a while now, and also the Asio4All drivers. Not really related, until recently; a couple of days ago, they both stopped working. I'm using Live 8.3 and Windows 8. When I connect the Launchpad and start up Live, I see the MIDI inputs/o...
