Re: What are these guys doing (mixing?)

Right on. Cool. Thanks a bunch man, you probably saved me a day of banging my head on the midi pads! :4: So basically they are fading from 1 track to another (I assume very quickly, or instantly) for 1 bar and then back to original track... and because they know there music they know when to do it a...

Re: What are these guys doing (mixing?)

It's just basic mixing. Once you have two tracks beatmatched together keep the crossfader in the center. Keep the volume fader one track A at 0, track B at 100. When you want to tease a bar of the other track just do a quick invert of that. OK I know how to set my midi controller to operate the cro...

Re: What are these guys doing (mixing?)

Thank you thank you thank you! So there are like 4 billion DJ videos on youtube. Should I just start with basic ableton dj tutorial or is this a specific style of DJ-ing these guys are doing? Any specific key words I should use to find the right material? I just dont want to go down this path again-...

Re: What are these guys doing (mixing?)

I barely understand what you said but if I wanted to learn more, is that just basic DJ skills? Could I do that in Ableton with 2 tracks and use my midi controller for the faders using either the knobs or pads? Thanks a lot!

It is an old hi-fi.
Nothing more to be said really.
You have an Equalizer, tape deck with dual tape players, AM/FM stereo Receiver and a Bose Surround sound system.
Thank you very much I appreciate it.

Re: Buddy donated me his old DJ hardware (help)

Silly question, but if you want to find out what it is and how much it's worth, have you considered Googling the make/model of each unit? Pretty much what forums are for, as far as I know. If someone posts on Helifreak they just got this box of old AM/FM heli stuff Im not gonna tell them to google ...

Buddy donated me his old DJ hardware (help)

Add Creative Live! card for second output?

Im using the built in HD Audio (realtek) on the back of my box for my headphones and switch to my PC speakers/sub on occasion. Would it be possible to install another sound card (I have a PCI Creative Live! SB Gold in an anti-static bag)? Could I use that as dedicated for headphones or the desktop 2...

Re: Starting out, what HW to look at for the wife and I

LOL. Love the trophy. OK so I like the idea of the smaller 25/49 key boards from Akai. The problem is unless I get 2 of them we are each going to be fighting over who gets to practice/play. I think I will start with the Akai MPK 25 mini. As soon as I get an excuse Im going to grab that Launchpad. Ho...

Starting out, what HW to look at for the wife and I

Ive read and read and read and I really appreciate all the FAQS and everything however I was wondering if anyone ever had to approach dubstep from the perspective of a husband and wife getting started together. I have zero music background with a considerable amount of technical knowledge. My wife h...
