Re: Sound Design Skype Group?

At this point the group is a hit. We have 16 people talking frequently throughout the day and it's been an epic 2 days. Hit me up and I'll add you :)

Re: Sound Design Skype Group?

Hey guys, Don't let the lack of replys give you the impression that its not happening. I've been added by 5 people or so privately and the group is going, we're looking for more people to add me so then everyone can start getting people who are actually half decent+ so that we can spider web and get...

Effects Processing VST List/Recommendations

Hi, So I've decided I'm literally just going to spend the next 2-3months really focusing on sound design and I was wondering if some guys would list their favourite effects VSTs/types of effects when they do effects processing. I'm not over experienced with resampling things but it seems like a lot ...

Sound Design Skype Group

This is an edit of the original post. The group has been created and has taken off. So far we have around 25 guys with 15+ of them being active and typically there are people talking in the channel 24 hours a day with an exception of a 1-2 hour silence where I'm sure everyone's just in their DAW mod...

Re: Networking with Sound Designers

I should've also mentioned I mainly use Massive and have learned the basics of FM8. I love NI stuff, going to jump into Kontakt for Sampling when I'm prepared.

Synthwise I think Massive/FM8 will be my go-to's but I'll probably learn Sylenth later on for leads as it seems very simple.

Networking with Sound Designers

Whats up guys? I'm not a noob but I definitely have a long way to go in terms of my sound design skills. I actually had a big long talk with my Dad about my production ambitions and he supports me wholeheartedly which is great. I'm still in University and I could've started a business but honestly, ...

FM8 Focus

Hi, I decided I want to get nasty with FM8 so I'm just going to fuck around with it for 2-3hrs everyday until I'm good. I understand the basics of FM synthesis but don't quite understand how the FM8 operators work. Any recommendations on books, courses, tutorials, reading material, etc I should chec...

Are you a Traktor DJ?

Hey guys I've been busting my ass in the studio for production and now I've transitioned to DJing. I have two CDJs, a mixer and an a4 audio box but aside from just beatmatching the CDJs I want to get really familiar with Traktor as I also have an X1 and will me mapping my MPD32 to use similarly to t...

Kontakt& Ableton Multi Channel Output/Stereo Configuration

Alright, Newer producer who's been putting husting his balls (seriously, my dicks pissed at me these days) working nonstop to get where I need to be. Constant reading, watching, doing, the whole 9. I don't have much experience with I/O's/aux's, etc because well, bartenders dont need to worry about t...

IRC Thread Deleted? (Mods)

5. If a thread has been locked or removed then it is for a good reason so please do not carry on the argument in a separate thread as that is likely to be locked as well. Persisting in posting a topic, picture, video or link after having it removed will be classed as trolling and further action wil...

Artists who make Complicated Drops

I'm working very hard on my sound design and I'm looking for new sounds to try and recreate, drops that inspire me, etc. I'm looking for artists who use a lot of sounds within their drops. Ex: wub #1 wub #1, yoi yoi yoi, a bunch of lasers, wub #2 wub #2, some other noises, more yoi's, etc. What I'm ...

Sound Names

I'm really working on my sound design skills and I want to try and recreate all of the sounds I hear people talking about. Now obviously not all sounds have names but many do so I figured it would be helpful to have a thread where there a ton of sound names so people could use the thread as a resour...

FM8 "Coaches"

Looking for some people who'd be interested in coaching a dude learning FM8. I don't need to be spoonfed, ideally I'd just like to have a few people to be like "yo dickwad, make some bells, try doing so and so to make it happen" and then I'll make it happen. I'm already reading How to Make...

Best Synthesis YouTube Channels?

Spending my entire day reading How to Make a Noise: a Comprehensive Guide to Synthesizer Programming but am also looking from some YouTube channels, good tutorials, etc so I can really develop an intricate understanding of all of the types of synthesis. Sound design/synthesis is obviously an integra...

Also anybody who's willing to help a dude out once in awhile (a question here and there, I'm not socially retarded, I won't harass you) feel free to add to Skype: apoplexy17.

Step up Sound Design Game

I really need to step up my sound design game but I don't know where to start. I understand subtractive synthesis, ADSR, understand all of the parameters but I still can't make many sounds. There's no sticky for this section and I really want to do a lot of work so I can develop my capabilities. If ...
