Ok, the best way of doing this is playing notes in a 1/12 pattern. And, guess what? the secret to the sharpness is GUNSHOTS! it's called a machine gun bass for a reason! take gunshot sounds, distort then if you need, and line them up to the notes of your bass. it's easy and is still heavy! FM synthesis. LOL, I think I turned this sound into a mess, what plugins did you use for the sound? I'm using Ohmicide for distortion, Xtube (sounds like a porn website) for saturation, WOW for filters, and good ol' TAL-Bitcrusher for more grainyness
