Colors (Keegan B Remix) - Tritonal
Hi everybody, I'm doing the remix competition for Tritonal's Colors on Beatport, and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a listen to my song which can be found at the link below. Also if you enjoy it and have a Beatport account, and wouldn't mind voting then you should do so! http://play.bea...

Re: Any certain recommendations on Logic Pro's reverb
Space Designer is insane. The possibilities are limitless. It has a really muddy low end (as most reverbs do) so I usually apply a high pass at ~300hz on the FX chain and apply it to the sound I want using a send bus. For percussion and such, I use dryer "plate" settings and tweak them to ...

Re: Making drum loops/looped one shot samples sound "real"
If you want to hear how my parallel compression & wet sends sound there's a link in my sig. I think I need to load my samples into the sampler to get them on the piano roll and mess with this velocity thing

Re: Making drum loops/looped one shot samples sound "real"
Thanks a bunch man, that limiter stuff sounds really interesting, I'm gonna have to play around with it. As far as reverb/delays go I usually use them on a totally separate send and hipass it to avoid that low end mud anyway, and use a very minimal amount on my kick.

Re: Making drum loops/looped one shot samples sound "real"
mate for starters im against pre made loops, use a sequencer and make your own beats. if youre looking for that more professional sound on your drums and your samples lack definition, look up and learn parallel processing/mixed bus compression/new york compression (theres 3 names for the same techn...

Making drum loops/looped one shot samples sound "real"
I've been focusing really hard in my productions to get my drum beats/loops as on point as a lot of signed artists' tunes, and for some reason, certain things are just escaping me. I spend a lot of time utilizing compressors properly and in parallel, adding the right effect chains, equalization, and...

Re: Martin Garrix
"Really mediocre". Tell that to the beatport charts. It's catchy, no point in questioning that. Is it revolutionary? Fuck no. Did he do a good job on it considering the genre? Yes. Can't argue with that. Were you expecting amazingly advanced production techniques in bigroom house? I wasn'...

I'm extremely unimpressed. The mix down is so weak in this track compared to the professional standard, if I, or about 50% of the people on this forum, had the kind of training and equipment he has had we'd be so much farther than this. You don't need a lot of equipment to distort a vengeance percu...

Re: Why orchestra doesn't need mixing?
Instrument design, idiomatic composition, arrangement and acoustic design of concert halls means it sounds right live with no amplification . I imagine a recording to be a pretty big task but mainly based in an understanding of how the orchestra works in a room. Has anyone here ever done it? Record...

Re: How to make this 'bubbling' pad sound? - snakehips track
If you're using NI massive to recreate this it's a square wave, mess with a performer on the pitch (I'd say down ramp envelopes at 12 or 24 on the pitch), light application of sample and hold insert, and a delay effect set to some form of triplet division.

Re: A cappellas (vocal only tracks)
Pretty sure there is a thread for this already but: http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/ All songs don't have acapellas available online though, of course. If it's not a VERY big artist, you can try messaging them and/or their manager, politely asking if you can have the acapella and explain why. Oh snap ...

Re: Tip For Young Producers!
take everything you hear on youtube with a grain of salt, barring masterclasses from famous producers. A lot of people have pretty much no idea what they're talking about and just want to get a billion views or downloads on their trash massive presets where half of the effects they say to use aren't...

Re: Dillon Francis's Sound design
Try using the digital/hybrid wave tables in massive on bend-/+ to recreate his heavier bass noises, that will usually gets around the same sort of initial sound. From there u can add filtering or distortion to taste. Most of the motion in his tracks comes from pitch and melody and really heavy side ...

Re: How do I make this sound? (Scream Style Wobbble?)
it's a formant laser synth wobble layered with a midrangey saw synth.
Pro tip, if you're missing out on certain frequencies in your synth patch, layer it with another synth patch that hits those frequencies
