Man I went on a long night-time drive last month and had the cd in the player. Forgot just how great it was. Those drums. Wheeeoow.

[Dubstep] Oatbag - Next Time

Hey - been listening to some tunes from this section and it's somehow nearly 2am now. I'm pretty into break oriented music of all varieties and have always loved me some bass. Will share what happened when I decided to make a dubstep tune. It's from earlier in February so I've already had all sorts ...

Re: bkwsk - Vragarn (Chillstep?)

Downtempo bass music maybe? :) Well done man - really digging lots about this tune. the intsrumentals, keys, vibe, bass, clean clean mix - so nice. If I had to point fingers at anything, some of the more auxilary percussion sounds seem a big loud compared to the rest of the mix during the intro/buil...

Re: ~Sonic Destruction~

Your intro build was great - awesome whistling synth - felt like something really big was going to come and just hit hard. Then... machine gun kicks. I honestly think it would work better without them - keeping the rest the same there. The midrange wall of noise that comes in at 1:00 doesn't do just...

Re: Zulishanti - Thunderstorm (Drum+Basstep)

Your basses are the highlight of this song for me. The percussion could use more depth. Variation in the sound of the drums with some layering, and some more rhythmic work (gotta love those ghost snares) would help. I find some of your lead sounds repeat a bit too long - the change at 3:30 is really...

Re: ctbradley - Diluted Destiny

Well you aren't afraid to go wild with the synths for sure. Some decent combination of sounds in your tune - mix-wise it could be balance more - when your electro sounds get going the percussion is completely drowned out/masked. Typically some half-time syncopated drums instead of a 4/4 beat would s...

Re: [dubstep] (calm) SNOWMAN

Some really nice sound with the lead - it is a calm feel like you said. The song has a very structured loop feel to it that doesn't really build, release, hit peaks, or chill out. The bits of the sub bass that I can hear sound quite good - not sure if it's too low for my sub or if it's just mixed a ...

Re: ElectroPhant - Then kill yourself

It's a bit of a fun tune. The change at 2:25 works quite well - it could maybe even come in a bit earlier. The thing I would suggest could use the most work is the percussion. I know everyone says, kick on 1 snare on 3 - boom dubstep - but it shines if you move beyond that. Variation in sounds and r...

Re: Ispo - Zkope.flats (Bass/Ambient)

I was hoping the straight 4/4 bass drum would bust into some breaks at some point. I think some variation in your synths and drums is needed, but if you are trying to keep it really straight then you can do a lot of work with automation on this one. Your kick (and I think your sub follows the kick) ...

Re: Ghosthack - Lights

You weren't kidding about it being full of pitched vocal slices ;)

Nice man - some good bass oriented music. Bit of a slow moving nodder. If anything, a touch more variety in what you are doing with the vocal chops - but sometimes simple is nice too.
