Re: fitting sub and mid range together
No phasing issues arise from a wide detuned sound in your low end? OK bud. You might not hear the phasing, but it is occurring. Use a plug-in to hear it as a mono sound and you will probably hear most of the sound fade into the background. Besides that, isn't it ALMOST always safe to say under 150-...

Re: NI has gone to Ludacris speed!!!
IDK if there will be more sales, but here's something: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/high-octane-holidays/ A free compressor that they will soon charge for, 4-5 Traktor Remix sets(who cares, right?), and a $25 e-voucher for ALMOST anything on their site. I paid $460 for Komplete 9 AF...

Re: so how the **** has zomboy done it?
A lot of his stuff lately has revolved around really wet sounding patches with a lot of filtering. And hard synths, let's not forget those. Here's my best mind control impression, try to ignore the shit mixdown: https://soundcloud.com/photonman/photon-man-helios It's really not that hard to replica...

I will be there too! £5 is about $10($8.75?). Quit acting so cheap. He's a HUGE and rising name in dubstep. I love CM, but I've only liked the Reso, Bar 9, & Delta Heavy Masterclasses. Zomboy is one of my favorite artists alongside Skrillex, and probably one of the biggest names in dubstep right...

Re: so how the **** has zomboy done it?
Well im just going to type the little i know about his bass's 1.) He does not resample. (Proof : In Feb. 2013 His live stream he said he does not resample) 2.) He uses a lot of massive. (Once again said in the live stream) 3.) He has a masters degree in sound engineering so his sounds are going to ...

First off, big ups to Zomboy! I fucking love Zomboy! Got to see him live yesterday!!! His set was amazing and he played all the material he's gonna be releasing on Re-Animated!!!! You can tell he has evolved as a producer. I believe his first release was Game Time in 2011 with Never Say Die Records ...

Re: How to maximise efficiency in FL?
It sound likes you need to learn your DAW better dude. Take a few days to not work on new music. Take an old song you've been working on and experiment with your plugins and you'll get faster at using them and how to use them Also, quit being lazy and read your manual. If you don't read it, have it ...

I don't really care about hurting the feelings of dimwits who can't even do a google search before making some run on sentence wall of text thread. What I do care about are the mature articulate posters who don't mind putting in the work before asking for something. And if keeping a quality signal ...

Re: Transition from designing sounds to Arranging them!
I get a nice sound and riff with a sound, freeze the midi, bring it on a audio track as a wav and take it from there. Each song is different though and requires a different process. I love not knowing what I'n going to do, creating a patch, bouncing it and adding to it from there. Think outside the ...

Almost everybody said it. Layering can key. Adding a simple sub and a higher end for some parts can really change a sound. Layering can be really effective

Re: Why do I always feel like I'm loosing sound quality?
I agree with SunkLo. Resampling everything is overrated. Bouncing to audio is not. If you resample a sound 5 times, then yeath it will lose a lot of its original qualities, but if that's what you're going for then do it. If you want a cleaner version, use no more than 40% wet. You can tetain many qu...

Re: ways to sidechain in Ableton 9 BESIDES COMPRESSION
I don't think you can sidechain an eq8. You can sidechain a gate and many other effects, but the autofilter is probably your best bet. But be sure you understand the effects different sidechain can create. I'm not saying you don't understand, but it should be clear, especially if you are new to effe...

Re: Adjusting levels at the limits of your hearing
Ahhh, the Fletcher-Munson curve thread :D At higher dB levels, particular frequencies can give a false image of power, especially with deep bass. Any good mixing engineer will tell you to mix low and listen high to make sure what you hear is true. Although acoustics can also create a false image tha...

The APC is the posterchild for Ableton controller flexibility. I don't own one. I have an MPD24. My DJ set up is my MPD24 and a Numark Mixtrack. I've been learning to DJ so I can't give much advice there. I also use Traktor to DJ. I have the Mixtrack for my turntables and basics and a few eefects an...

Grab a mic and record yourself making a dry fart and a wet fart. Layer the 2 with heavily down/up pitched kick drum, add vocoder, distortion, phaser, saturation,, some automated reverb, a tiny bit of delay....
