Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Serious question, and I probably passed over it in the thread, but: How do you get those neuro-style stabs like in Distantia by Mefjus (which have a higher end) or other stabs that seem to have a lot of low end (like the ones after 44 seconds of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDTnYTF_lDo...

Re: Neuro Whomp

most of this kind of sound manipulation is just using EQ to paint the sound. really eq will get you anywhere. if you use fl make a lowpass in parametric eq 2, and automate that to the timing you want. then for the different timbres, make a notch and automate that too. I'll make an example soon, pro...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Been working on reese basses lately. I keep having this problem where they sound very noisy. Using massive, detuned saws, multiple voices and the pitch cutoff. It sounds like I turned a noise generator on or something? Is this a normal problem any one know how to deal with it? https://soundcloud.co...

Re: Music files showing zero bytes (deleted?)

Yeah, recovery programs could help. I've had bad experiences with them. Also, I somehow managed to CMD+BACKSPACE my entire folder with every sample, song backup, software setting, synth patch I'd ever made then empty the trash on my Mac, deleting it permanently. Luckily - I had a backup for 90% of i...

I'm okay at making you usual style reese but I need some help creating something more like this... https://soundcloud.com/ieatfunk/neuro-whomp-example/s-EcLKp I know it doesn't sound technically like a reese, but I'm sure it's using a lot of the same techniques and methods and features in the same g...

Neuro Whomp

https://soundcloud.com/ieatfunk/neuro-whomp-example/s-EcLKp Hey, I'm trying to figure out how to make that sound in my example track. Re: Do I still need to make a separate subbass w this techni

It's rare that you would ever need to ADD a sub layer to your synths, if you had a saw in massive at -12 there will already be loads of sub there, so I'd cut that out then introduce just a sine sub. I always use a separate layer. It's easier to mix, gives you more control, allowing you to program in...

I'd go with the MacBook Pro you won't regret it. Windows for audio production is pretty meh... Let's all agree to disagree. Disagree all you want I have a Windows 7 laptop and a MacBook Pro. Both are nice computers both are powerful. The Mac is the one I go to 90% time for Audio / MIDI production. ...
