Re: The Sub/Low-Mid Range Bass Thread

That's too static. More like the low basses in this (these do have some highs though but the movement is the part I want): https://soundcloud.com/koan-sound/infinite-funk

At 1:19, 1:27 etc

Re: The Sub/Low-Mid Range Bass Thread

So, middy/low mid neuro basses! I can not get these down. I dont have a good example but basically a bass with loooots of movement but no highs, mostly lows and mids. How do you achieve this? I thought lowpassing your average neuro bass would do it but no. I'm not very good with neuro at all but I r...

I got the new looking screen telling me to change my password, but it took me back to the normal dsf. It looks like the usual layout here :(

To be honest I'm very very impressed and I've been trying to nail this with some fm and delays but havent gotten those really wonky ones, like you did in Obelisk. How did you make that? Woah.

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

Kes-Es - This is pretty cool but strange as fuck. Unique anyway, very tight. For feedback, try having the "drop" less cluttered in the beginning and add more stuff in as it progresses, gets cluttered otherwise. zosomagic - I love this tbh, nice vocals and pads, killer vibe! I'd lower the h...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Im sure there are something good here, but its 70 pages and most of them are just soundclouds which doesnt work for some reason (is that only me?) so what do you think is the best tutorial? (As there are three pages on youtube and it takes hours to watch through all of them. Most of them dont work ...

Re: Alright Newbies, Ask A Question

explain these musical terms?: - RAM - are VST just another word for plugin? - phase - ring mod - limiter - ensemble - flanger - rate - treble - are VST just another word for plugin? No, vst is one of many formats/types of plugins, theres also AU (Logic, mac) RTAS, etc. All VSTs are plugins, but not...

Hey its been a long time. Here's a thing I made a few minutes ago featuring plenty of growly goodness. For some reason the audio of the first bar wasn't uploaded but whatever: https://soundcloud.com/photon-2-1/messing-around Just tell me which you would like advice on. Before I explain anything can...

Re: Most innovative/unique software synths?

I still got a plan to create FM-synth with 36 operators (9 carriers and 27 modulators) in Reason. It's also going to have some wicked frequency dependent control on modulation amounts, which means you can for example use mic and control the synth with your voice. I'm pretty sure it's going to be ve...

Re: best iOS/android music productions apps

So, lots of cool synths being mentioned here but DAW wise - what's the best? I'm thinking in terms of sitting on an airplane, making a tune in a daw like app, and being able to export the midi and I guess Wav to your computer. Garageband can export projects which can be loaded into logic which is ni...

Polish_krome: That's very close! How'd you make it?

Also I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with this using FM? Massive is, yeah - premade wavetables, so I still don't know how the sound is created if I find a wavetable that sounds like what I want.
So, any FM luck?

Most innovative/unique software synths?

So, when trying out some of the Tone2 stuff (super cool features that I've never seen before) it struck me how the vst/au synth market seems to be dominated by analog/hardware emulations. Like so much of what's being made is 0% innovation and 100% emulation. You can of course argue that the old synt...

Is there anything (piano roll) that I can use to write chord progressions etc and export them as midi files (via email for example)? That would be dope.

HitKit V3, Every time. http://www.hitkitsamples.com/ What type of sounds are these? Are they the "punchy things to work from" or are they processed and (nearly) ready to be used? If so - how do they sound, what genres do they fit? And don't go with the "they are amazing and fit for e...

Re: $$$How do you guys make a living?$$$

It's interesting how some people here have actually managed to get jobs in music. Wow. I have really good grades (still in school) and probably won't have a problem getting a normal job, but I honestly am surprised that people do work with music. Like actually pay bills, with music/engineering. That...
