Re: KroyClub - New World Order (Space Laces Remix) [VOCAL FX
Yeah I thought what was he did, but it's weird because I'm not sure how he made it to follow the voice EXACTLY. Maybe he vocoded it, since Space Laces likes his vocoder. :corndance: This would be down through reverse sidechaining (AKA expansion), but that doesn't sound like that's what happened her...

Re: Dubstep [Kicks + Snares] - How to Compress and EQ / Mast
Do you have any tracks we should listen to for analysis? I've heard that Black Octopus Sound's Monster Kicks Vol 1 is good, but I haven't used it. I use Vengeance Dubstep Vol 1 & 2 as well as Sinister Soul's free pack and other free shit. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+compress+kick+drum+fl+studio ...

This is a great post right here. Sub genre of dubstep is worse than the murder of an estimated 11 million people.ehbrums1 wrote:Death step is the worst fucking thing i think I've ever read and I read about the holocaust
Also, I've kind of got the snare ideas down. I'll tell you guys soon.

Re: Machine-like ring snares
Thank you all, but i've already managed to work out this snare by now. I literally just got a few acoustic samples with a slight ring (even the tiniest bit) and compressed it to the high heavens. I then layered the ring sound with a punchy tom sample and the transient of another snare I found. Wher...

Re: My fn key is stuck on my laptop keyboard wtf
Check if the key is stuck, see if there are any other keyboards attached or any weird things stuck somewhere. If the key iself is stuck, remove it and clean it.

[FL11] Tempo automation canceling delay effect
So I'v e been working on a song that has tempo automation and delay involved, and in short, the former is canceling the latter when it comes into play. I have an intro, with a bass that has Fruity Delay 2 stuck on it's mixer channel at 8 beats IIRC. It plays during the intro and the bridge. During t...

Re: In Which I Rant About Sound Design
It does seem that everyone over-complicates sound design nowadays, most synthesis concepts are relatively simple. As soon as you get too complicated that is when your sounds lose coherency and turn to mush. I agree, I especially hate tutorials that spend 15 minutes on one sound. I'm not saying that...

NI Massive sine wave panning.
It seems that my sub bass is panning for no reason at all. Here's a screencap with all the relevant information I know of.

Re: This kind of tonal sound
Yeah, upon close listening, I believe you're right that there are 2 different layers, the high pitch sound kind of a straight filtered square or something and there's some other patch underneath it. Sounds like a "lazer" used in typical brostep songs. Tut: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b...

Re: Machine-like ring snares
I actually talked to my buddy KRAM about how he makes his snares in his tracks. He didn't mention filters or metallic reverb/delay effects, but he did talk about layering his snares. I can talk to him about it though.

Re: how to get that metallic sound like mantis/exude?
I personally find that messing with the reverb settings in Massive are a good substitute for fucking with the delay. Here are the settings I made for a patch that give it a metallic-y feel:
