Re: Twin Peak - Roadkill (dnb)

I really do like it but it does get fairly repetitive, you could even just make some cuts to make it shorter IMO (if you don't want to add new content) Overall though mixing is consistent, cool sounds, everything fits in with the vibe of the track.

Re: Live music production every night in FL studio

I like the track you posted and the idea of livestreaming the progress of a track every night (That's a lot of work though!) Keep it up. One bit of criticism though, the arpy delay thing in the background is a bit generic and kinda messes up the vibe of the track for me, otherwise it is great.

Re: FL Studio Mods ( like videogame !)

One could always decompile FL, oh my god the spaghetti you would have to sift through to mod it. In short, pretty much impossible without the actual source, and even then it would need to be clean, documented and commented for anyone to make use of it. There are other ways to mod things without edit...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Worked on this reese for ~an hour... Skip to around 40 seconds to hear it; https://soundcloud.com/bitter-medicine/solanine/s-bYk5s The concept is simple enough; After constructing a basic reese in Harmor with a saw/square and unison, then lowpassing it, I fed it in to an EQ then a compressor. After ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

@Gurnumsbug - Everything seems to harmonize nicely, although to me it seems highly repetitive and a bit empty. @Ascian - I really like this track, something new compared to what I usually listen to. I would probably buy this if it were released somewhere. The sample or whatever it is in the backgrou...

Re: Sine Shaper AU (Waveshaper that can make a perfect sine?

The FL Waveshaper is unipolar or bipolar, has all sorts of curves and it comes in a VST version. It is pretty easy to make a sine shaper with this plugin using the half sine curve setting; First one is the sine shaper in bipolar mode, the second one is just an example of the curve system.. http://i....

Re: My note about frequency splitting.

I wonder if a FFT could be made to run fast enough while preserving the 'phasiness' of a signal to be used in frequency splitting.

The Frequency Splitter Template that comes with FL Studio's 'Patcher' doesn't distort the wave very badly, no idea what filters are behind it though.

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Been a while since I have been on this forum. Here is a reese I made today using what I believe is being called 'sine compression,' this essentially consists of running a sine wave through lots of compressors until it becomes extremely distorted, then applying some effects/filters before and after t...

Either you are talking about the very basic saw synth or the vocal chop with a tape stop effect on it.

I recorded a good portion of the percussion my self, all except the hard kick/snare and the orchestral stuff.

I run the playlist in the left monitor and everything else in the right, I want to get a newer Nvidia GPU so I can run 3 monitors and have the piano roll in the third.

Re: Such a thing as too much headroom?

If you think it is too little then adjust your master fader and that's it. The only problem here is floating point precision, for example, a mix mixed down to -6db has two times less floating point precision than a mix mixed down to -0db. I wasn't aware of this. Why does that matter? Say you have a...

Re: Good external sample manipulation software

Spear is cool, but not particularly accurate.
Someone posted a program called hourglass in the reese bass thread, it is a really cool granular thingy.

Audacity is free and it is great.
You could buy harmor and run it inside of Ableton, I really like it for resampling and manipulation.

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 41 // VOTING NOW

Echo is mine, I made it in about an hour and put almost no effort in to it. I do agree it is about the worst thing to come of this comp and I can't believe it even got a vote. Think of it as a poorly constructed joke. As for the horn it was that weird little melody thing that was in the pack which I...
