Re: The Free Sample Thread
Everyone on this forum should go to music radar right now and download all of their free samples if they haven't already. Even if you think "there's no way I would ever use those samples" just download them anyway. Even if you think "these are the worst samples I have ever heard"...

Re: Mixing issues with Dnb
Well assuming the amplitude scaling is the same for both tracks, it appears you could actually boost the overall volume of your track quite a bit without clipping it anyway... your peaks are much lower than the comparison track so no wonder it sounds quieter. Also you're saying you don't want to cli...

Re: Clari-Fi, Restores quality back into your shitty MP3s
bringing resolution back to heavily compressed tracks?
Hmm, I doubt it... once resolution is lost whether in the time, amplitude, or frequency domain it cannot be recovered unless the algorithm which degraded it in the first place is fully reversible... which mp3 is certainly not.

Re: Clari-Fi, Restores quality back into your shitty MP3s
Once digital information is lost, it's gone for good. All this piece of software can do is enhance it, but it won't bring back the original sound. Pretty much this. MP3 compression removes frequencies from your sound which it determines are below a certain threshold of perceptibility. After this ha...

Re: Listening to your own tunes
I always equated listening to your tunes like looking in the mirror. You never quite see/hear what other people hear and I am sure you aren't going to whack off to yourself in the mirror unless you have some issues. Likewise if you listen to your own tunes constantly then there is probably somethin...

Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION - 45 - WINNER ANNOUNCED
Yeah congrats to plus4, your track was beast :) It's awesome to hear how creative everyone gets with these sounds. BTW I loved the rhythm going on in beta, it didn't feel exactly on the grid but it really grooved at the same time. All the entries were pretty ace to be honest... so yeah I'm glad you ...

Re: How can I stereo-ize my sound without causing phasing is
I don't think I can put it any better than nowaysj did. If you use stereo imaging on your master I think you should use it very sparingly. Most of the stereo should be achieved at the mixing stage IMO. S1 can be useful but I wouldn't push it further than about 110%... sometimes even that's too much....

Re: How do you start each track off?
I've seen you post good advice on here, where can we hear your music? just curious Thanks, it's funny you mention that, I just took my sound cloud link out of my signature the other day because I no longer wanted people to judge me by it :) But this is it: https://soundcloud.com/the-neon-feast (I'v...

Re: How do you start each track off?
Sometimes I try to "hear" the song before I start making it. Like I think to myself "if I were about to listen to a track right now, what would I want to hear?" Then I try to create it. I'm surprised with how often I get good results from this approach (I mean, it fails a lot as ...

Re: Anyone know where I can find this snare sample?
I don't know if you can find that exact sample in Vengeance, but you can certainly create something similar by layering a few Vengeance samples with some white noise. You could use any samples really, but yeah vengeance will provide a good starting point if this is the kind of snare you are after. L...

Re: you may be wasting your time
Why? It is business. All that is important is that you get people to give you their money, whatever it takes, lie to them, fill them with hate/self loathing/arrogance, whatever it takes, just get them to give you their money. Well I certainly do not possess the knowledge or experience to get into a...
