Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
*last post was a week ago, I doubt any of those people still want feedback (if you do, just say so i'll edit my post) It usually takes about that much time haha. Mine's the last song on the previous page, would love some feedback. I'll be happy to give you some crit today too, just don't have my sp...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
F8Fabe: haha this is dope man, i love the vocal samples and the drop is super clean. Def a style of dubstep I really like. Really well done. Are you planning on lengthening it? I do think a bit of melody at some point could add a lot, but otherwise sounding good man. Kes-Es: I like the idea of this ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@hirszu: thanks for the crit, I agree! Also, love your tune, one thing i would say is I think the kick can be turned up a bit and the snare given a bit more top end. Otherwise, that sub line is dope.

Re: [Complextro & Dubstep] Production & Technique /Feedback
Do you use some type of FM synthesis for your basslines? They're super clean and metallic, great work!

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@F8Fabe: Really digging that intro, the bells sounds really nice. The windown is maybe a decible or two too loud. But that bassline is great, really big sound! This is sort of reminiscent of coki to me... I agree with mtl6 too though, maybe try and beef up that bass in the low mid range, and maybe a...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
On the convolution technique to create growls, its not really convolution reverb, rather I create a custom impulse sample using a sample from a reese or a growl or something and use that instead. Then I'll split multiband then run each band into a different impulse and then compress it together. I ...

Re: Melodies
I'm pretty shit at it too. All my melodies are just way too simple. I'm a bassist at heart....
What dubuncked said fits into what Add9 said. Call and response is very similar to a "musical sentence." It's about developing small tension and release throughout the melody.

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Ahhh yes, coming back to the DSF and finding many of the same arguments happening. Everyone should just remember that the large majority of our communicative ability is lost when all we're doing is typing short responses to each other. It's really easy to perceive a slight against you or to assume s...

@dotcurrency: lol, i sort of assumed minnesota had been seen on this forum by now. I'm talking about a producer from california, not the state. I don't even know what a state of minnesota vibe would be.... Cold? Here's an example if you're interested. https://soundcloud.com/minnesota/starry-eyed-min...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@azuk: That snare is huge, although in the intro section I think you could use a few other little atmospherics here and there, but that’s just my opinion. Really enjoying when the bass comes in, I think it could actually be a tad louder. Very clean sound design. Again, in the section between bass se...
