There's clearly a case for purism going by what Youngsta and Hatcha have done taking this route but I think they are exceptions in a musical lull (which we are coming out of imo) rather than the rule. If to be a DJ means playing in a purist manner then all we will be listening to is Youngsta and Hat...

Dublate culture is all good when it come to quality control but it limits thos e who want to play out and don't have the latest dubs. There is the fact this music scene is very small and so I can buy relesed tunes, cut no dubs and still sound like the freshest DJ in my town. How does that fit in???...

Been into Jungle/DnB since I started mixing when I was 15. Then got into house due to really good local house club. Then got into UKG due to it crossing both these styles. Then Grime and then through the internet started listening to Dubstep.
