Re: Using guitar rig on basses

Its actually not producer savy to use guitar rig on a bass, since the plugin is designed for guitars sounds and harmonics adding anything else will yelled disastrous results. Only use native distortion fxs. This is utter bullshit. That's like saying "X Compressor is aimed at vocalists, you can...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

so transparent..... smh. A plugin like this already exists? And maybe if you listened to wolfcry's track (anybody?) you would have figured that out by now because his track is actually featured on the page as the "demo" track for the VST, in other words his song that he posted earlier, th...

Also props to wolfcry for putting together such a masterpiece of a track with such limiting requirements? And the plugin has hell of a lot better of a gui.

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

http://i.imgur.com/rn7wJuY.png I made a reese synth in Max for Live which I use for all mine. "Fertilize" detunes 2 of the 3 saws and "Mow" runs them through a series of distortion algorithms. It automatically sends audio through several rounds of light detuning/distortion to gi...

Re: How to make your HP bass thicker?

I can't listen to the exact sound as I'm in a lecture, but this is for any high-pitched sound; Look into boosting the content around 100-150Hz. Not just with literal EQ boosts, but possibly with distortion. Another way (which I usually use) is using something like Waves RBass/MaxxBass at around 130...

Re: Drop Bass from Gun Finga - Eptic?

It is a formant with a scream filter.
Just make any generic flux pavillion/doc p type sound. Then wobble it really fast, but turn down your amplitude on the wobble really low so you aren't chopping out the entire sound, and it will make it sound smoother like this.

Re: Pegboard Nerds bass?

You need lots of external effects and processing, just Massive probably won't do the trick.
Massive doesn't really do much internally at all, make sure to applysome effects.

Re: Au5 Blossom Basses

A few guesses here, I could be completely wrong. I think he uses frequency shifting on a lot of his basses. I think he might also be bouncing out long bass notes with lots of filter movement and possibly frequency shifting as well, then loading them into a sampler and doing effects like pitch autom...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread

Guys, prism is the key to reese bass. Js. This just in: there is no magic effect that will make you shitty detuned saws sound like noisia basses just by cranking up one knob. Although prism does add a nice quality if used in small amounts. Since it adds unharmonic elements (due to the shifting of f...

Re: This KTN Pitched/Vibrato Lead

Make notes that are hundreds of notes away from each other. Like, C-8 and C8, (16 octaves) Everything you said sounds about right, but 16 octaves??? haha even the highest one is only like 5 octaves above fundamental bass note I think... also pretty sure C-8 would be like less than 1 hz so you would...

Re: This KTN Pitched/Vibrato Lead

I'm guessing most people here may have heard this track: https://soundcloud.com/themmachine/the-m-machine-ghosts-in-the I started a remix yesterday and unintentionally started making this squeely guitar style lead and then realised it's kinda similar to the synth KTN uses at around 1:50 and 2:05. I...
