So I'm doing sound for my friends show

My friend asked me to be his sound engineer for a metal show he is throwing. I've never done this before. I will be doing the levels and making sure the sound is where it should be. I'm expecting things to go smoothly if its just live EQing, but I have a feeling it will be more than that. Has anybod...

Inserts and Chaining Techniques

I'm looking for some new ideas for layers and techniques to make different sounds. What kind of effects do you guys normally put on top of your sounds to shape what you want? Like for example I love using guitar rig on almost all of my sounds. There are a ton of reverb and delay options as well as d...

Re: Spectrograph plugins

Wave candy mothafuckaa. It has an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, db meter and vectorscope + you can customise it quite a bit. Oh, and it's a stock FL plugin I really like wave candy but its so... See through... I don't use FL but if you click the gear thing in the corner of wave candy you can cha...

Re: Spectrograph plugins

No they're not - learn what you got, seriously. All DAWs have some cracking stock plugins, learn the shit out of them. You're new to this, so use your DAW for 12 months or more, don't use anything else. Lock yourself in an FL-only box, and those points where you get frustrated cos you can't create ...

Spectrograph plugins

Hi everybody. I'm looking for some good spectrograph plugins for FL. The default ones in FL are pure shit. :D

Plox Halp.

P.s. Spectrograph is the right term right? The ones where you can see all the frequency as they play. Yea.

Re: Where do YOU (personally) put your frequencies?

ohhhhhh I gotchya now. That makes a ton of sense. But if I did stack upon a certain frequency would that be called layering? Or is layering a stacked sound with a bunch of different frequencies? Like lets say I make a snare at 900hz and "layer" it with other sounds at lets say 100hz. Would...

Re: Where do YOU (personally) put your frequencies?

Would anybody be willing to give an example of how a good mixdown would be done? Maybe a video or something. I'm still a tad confused. I mean I get the whole subtractive stuff but "finding elements that naturally add to the mix". I'm not really sure on what that means or how to achieve it....

I don't really understand multiband compression enough to use it yet. I've messed with it, but yea.

Re: Where do YOU (personally) put your frequencies?

Well what I've learned with maximus so far is that you can seperate where the cutoffs of each frequency are, and you can set those cutoff points to whatever frequency you want. I could set my lows to go from 20hz-7.5khz. Or at least Maximus classifies it as Low. I also could do the same for the &quo...

Where do YOU (personally) put your frequencies?

Hey guys, I just found out the wonders of Maximus on FL. I'm still kind of new to the whole mastering thing and I'm following my ears as much as I can, but I do know that there is a technical side I must learn. I know people set their highs and lows at different points. What I want to know is where ...

Not sure where to post this.

I'm looking for somebody to work with. Generally just sending samples and projects back and forth and finding what works and what doesn't and talk about techniques and why this does that and when to use this vs that. I use FL studio 10 and Reason 5. Beginners welcome. Like I said I don't really know...

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread

What DAW do you use? Reaon 5, FL Studio 10 How long have you been producing for? 1 Year+ What VSTs do you favour? Massive is a big part of my FL side. But I love all of Reasons utilities. What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound? Sadhu, JPhelpx, 12Guage, Excision, Datsik, D...

Not gonna lie the 160 version sounds sick as fuck.

Also, I dont really understand your question here.

I've been mixing for 4 years. Producing for 1. Full musician for 9 years.

That machine gun bass is the best I've heard so far. Can you go into detail a little bit on how you did that? Or like R3b said, project file? =D
