How do I make good sounding drums for dubstep? I really like Seven Lions drums - they're different from the generic dubstep drums you hear so often. I think I understand this a lot better, I've been able to use the envelope to modulate things like phase and cutoff.

This always gets me in VSTs such as NI Massive and Sylenth1. Let's say I wanted to modulate the cutoff. I understand how to do that with LFO. The shape of the "curve" controls the knob of the cutoff, right? But how control the cutoff with modulation envelopes? (Attack, Decay, Sustain, and ...
