Re: Trollphace/Skrillex Bass
Trollphace uses Reason for his wonky shit (like the remix you posted), and Logic for his Tearout stuff. He's stated that in a Google Hangout before.
Thus, he probably made the basses for the Yogi remix in Reason. To which, I can't help you, but just thought you should know.

Re: Xaebor Bass?
Maybe you dont get what sound I'm looking to make. Voco'ding the Barely Alive growl will not get me the sound the comes right as the drop comes in (27 seconds in). Even if you ran a perform on said growl, it would not sound like that. I understand how to get the texture and effect with the voco'ding...

I'd like to know how to go about the main bass that comes in at the drop.
Not even sure where to start for the base sound.

Re: that next level growl
Midnight definitely didn't go to school for production.
But from what I've seen, not a single person out there can recreate anything he does. Cept maybe Uber, whos growl is similar to his growl, but Midnight doesn't seem to use it often anymore anyway.
Midnight Tranny is a genius.

Re: How to achieve this kind of "wetness" in a growl
Invictous (he who made what I linked) has said for a while now he does all his stuff purely in Massive, with zero post processing other than some EQing. Your growls are kinda cool but the idea behind them sounds way different. To me it sounds like you modulated a bassline, instead of actually making...

How to achieve this kind of "wetness" in a growl
https://soundcloud.com/invictousdubstep/fuck-off-clip
I love this growl. It's huge, rather vowely, but above all its got that wet aspect to it I can't for the life of me recreate.
I have the gist of growls down, but how do I get something like this one?

Re: High Pitched Growl Sound
I'd also like to know a direct approach to making this sound.
I feel like it's a variant of a MUST DIE type of bass. I have one made from I think Formant Square, and one with I wanna say Digigrain 1, but I'm unsure how to obtain what OP posted.

Re: Djahsta Basses. (and does this sound like djahsta)
I don't know if he still sticks to it, but I've read in several places that he runs his basses through a Kaossilator.
Kinda wonder how much that matters.
But like Labco said, it's going to be quite the challenge going from Operator to Massive. Goodluck tho!

You have the vowel movement in the longer notes fairly close. As for the sound overall, it sounds nothing at all like D-Jahsta.
Look up his track System, or System VIP

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Hey all. I am not really into a whole lot of growl production but I stumbled across what I think Skrillex is doing in the Brostep growl. How do you think this compares? There is a lot of room to change this sound so I was thinking about showcasing this in my next track. This one, I made kind of try...

I said very few..not none >.>
I know about K100..but that still doesn't answer my question of how it's done =P
I understand the metallic (short delay/verb, chorus, flanger) bologna, but how does one obtain the actual sound?

Re: HOW TO MAKE D-JAHSTA TRANSFORMER BASS? HELP!!!
So does anyone actually and specifically know how D-Jahsta gets his main sound so...vowely?
I honestly can't think of many artists who have it down like him. It's pretty crisp shit.

Re: RIDDIM???
Could you go a little more in depth? It's not literally that simple. I've heard that before, tried for hours on end, and get nowhere near Monxx, Badklaat, P0gman or ANY of that type of sound.
I have Massive/Razor, and Effectrix. Been trying for weeks.

Re: HOW TO MAKE D-JAHSTA TRANSFORMER BASS? HELP!!!
I've messed with all the delay/phase/tonal settings in Effectrix, everything that comes stock with my DAW and can't get anything close. You guys make sound so easy.
How should one apply these settings you speak of?
How important is the base sound, and what should that sound be?

Re: HOW TO MAKE D-JAHSTA TRANSFORMER BASS? HELP!!!
Except for the fact no one can tell how to successfully make anything close to what D-Jahsta makes.
I personally wonder how much of his sound can be blamed on his Kaossilator.
