Re: Okay for real, how the f&$% is this sound made?
He layers a sine wave, sine formant, or square either on the same note 1 octave up, or +14 semitones, or +27 semitones. Kinda sounds like a Bubbly highpitch sine wave if you do it right but remember its hidden in the back of the main wobble. You need to listen to ALL the sounds that Zomboy and Skri...

Re: Okay for real, how the f&$% is this sound made?
A lot of sounds right now are coming from phase modding an oscillator in Massive. Prob good ol Labco is a good tut to follow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzH896KWkPU Nice tut, thanks Banesy (big upped for the link!). Great trick on using a second performer to reach line 2 of the first performer ...

Re: New Disclosure track bass?
Interesting idea on the tom sample, I certainly wouldn't put it past them and it does sound that way when you hear it tuning down before the drop. However if it is a tom sample i'd say its synthesized as opposed to a real tom. If i was to approach it i'd go with a saw wave with a really quick decay ...

Re: A different sound yo :D
I think its just a horn sample going through some processing I grabbed the first one at hand and got this http://www76.zippyshare.com/v/gNaW9yWU/file.html Prob sound better if you picked the right sample as well, mine was a short stab of a saxophone, a longer one might do better, I'm just distorting...

Re: Trollphace/Skrillex Bass
This is basically what I have going on, i'm pretty sure its close to the prcoessing set up he's using for his rebel bass, the flanger isnt important, just sort of spreads it a bit more, and i'm also eqing and compressing it outside of massive, but if people mess around with that they'll probably get...

The whole "riddim" thing doesnt really bother me
But to be fair I live in ireland and 90% of people still call ALL dance music Techno
Dubstep = Techno
Big Room House = Techno
Synth Metal = Guitar Techno

Re: Trollphace/Skrillex Bass
Also feel the need to say that trollphace does indeed jump around daw wise, it totally depends who he's collaborating with or what style he's working on! When hes working with juju OR on some wonky shit like this he uses reason, I believe when he's just working on tearout tunes he uses logic/fl (thi...

Re: Trollphace/Skrillex Bass
This is as close as I got before I got bored of trying to do it haha AKA: :u: http://www59.zippyshare.com/v/xKqUnEzn/file.html I was actually trying to do the bass from his rebel remix (it sounds a lot more like that as opposed to the one in burial which has a lower sort of tone) I'll elaborate if a...

Re: Different Growl
Yeh this dude pretty much nailed it Pitch mods really important for sounds like this, even small ones like +/- 1 or 2 semitones Phasers are good (because they basically formant eq it for you) Eq it properly, spend time focusing on formants Compress it Slight distortion (Not over the top distortion, ...

Whenever i'm having trouble with the attack of a sound its usually because the transient is level with rest of it, so I use this baby http://www.fluxhome.com/products/freewares/bittersweet-v3 Its a free transient shaper that hardens or softens the attack of a sound, can make stuff super punchy! Hope...

Re: Zomboy High Pitched Wobble (not Terror Squad)
Ooooh I love that sound Could be a few ways he's doing it 1. Maybe he's just taking a sine or square or combination of simple waveforms and just phase modding them with a really high octave on the phase (Similar to the bass in Ruffneck) 2. Could easily just be some of the sync wavetables in Massive ...
