Re: Desembra - Bendal Growl

Wow, very cool that you have an account here Desembra! I would have to agree with the importance of EQ modulation; in my analyzing of your and Omega Mode's growls I noticed very steep peaks and notches in the frequency spectrum. Did you use a phaser? I noticed several peaks in the 2,000 khz region ...

Arr, just a collection of vinyl crackling. :D

Note, even though the website is called "99 sounds", this pack only has 37. They're a good 37, though.

Re: sub bass click

The reason it clicks is because it's not starting or ending at a zero point of the wave. If you bounce it down, and look really closely, you can see it cutting off. The amp envelope is the 3rd one in Massive, and increasing the attack and release a slight amount is one way to correct the problem. A...

Definitely saw-based. Comb filtering? Eqing out a formant and then distortion?

Yarr.* Love it, no bugs yet and it runs great.

*Notice that I actually have legally purchased FL in Signature Edition and am not using pirate-speak to imply I torrented it or anything. I just like saying "Arr/Yarr" all the time.

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread

Check out what I made, this growl is based off a preset that I was sent, it didn't really work that well for me, so I changed it and it became this... https://soundcloud.com/theorieskill/loworhigh Dis is cool. I wish I was sent presets lol. EDIT: Dang this thing is sweeet. https://www.youtube.com/w...

Re: Okay for real, how the f&$% is this sound made?

Probably comb filter-y business like the Burial remix was. I hear a slight delay that sounds like it could come from dimension expander on somewhat large size. I have no idea how to actually make it though.

And yep, it's a really cool sound.

I wasn't at all trying to get that sound but I got something kinda similar. Sounds more like KTN's stuff in his Mat Zo collab tho. :/

Wow, thanks for the pic Omega! Also, FL 12, eh? I've been trying to get used to the GUI but it still feels a bit weird lol.

If anyone cares, here's a picture of my chain.

Re: Organic/realistic/ambient sounding but still energetic l

It's definitely the notes you play that matter. This is a really simple patch I made in like 10 seconds in Serum, just some detuned squares and saws with lots of chorus and stuff like that. But because I'm playing 9,000 Miles' notes, it sounds cool. https://clyp.it/nafk4buu If anyone cares I'll uplo...

I feel like I'm close to Omega's, but I don't know how to give it that last "push" into greatness. https://clyp.it/u33yqtzu HOW are you people doing this? Idk how to get the little clicking sound to it. The "nuggets" as barely alive named them. My trick is to use a formant rich ...

Re: Best vst synth around

I like Z3ta+2. It's relatively old in comparison to some other synths but it's cool. It's got a really cool waveshaper for each of the individual six oscillators and each osc can FM/AM/RM etc into the next one.

Re: Organic/realistic/ambient sounding but still energetic l

Well he's an idiot then. A digital subtractive synth is not the same as an analog synth just cos it has a filter on it. Eh, he never says it's an analog synth, he just uses it as an adjective loosely. "Turning the filter resonance like so will let you get those 'analog' sweeps" and other ...
