Re: Automated Saturation
I try to get as much grit out of fart sounds as possible, never liked clean sounding ones anyway.

Automated Saturation
Has anyone tried this? I did. And I think you should give it a go. Usually when i hear of automation I think sidechaining or eq automation, but has anyone else tried automating the amount of saturation going on in a mix? I'm talking about for more transient things like drums and stabs or plucks. I t...

Re: Drum Samples VS Synthesis
I like samples more because its just easier to drop in a finished product that doesnt need much tweaking, so when my creative juices get flowing, I dont get stuck.
That being said, I like to synthesize and layer samples in their own project and then bounce them to .wav to use in my music.

Yeah I know how you feel, i been working on mixing a stupid youtube clip into a song and first bpm matching was killing me but now bringing it to the front in a bass heavy song is killing me.

Re: How to get a punchier kick (WITH PICS GUIDE!)
This is pretty solid, I do this a lot with samples, not just bassy sub kicks, ultimately it preserves the attack of the kick, or snare if you got it hitting more than once too fast. I feel the reason for this is because it's just instantly releasing. Also lets a compressor or transient designer rele...

Re: Post Your Random Thoughts: for the production heads
I have to definitely agree on the whole production vs arrangement thing, my arrangement is definitely a lot worse now that I focused on making my production better, guess its hard to keep a perfect balance. However I'm really enjoying exploring technical aspects of music. For one I've been working o...

Re: How much of production is random?
Occasionally, the stuff I make, I learned off a tutorial, or off some pro tips on sites like this. Come to think about it. A lot of the stuff I make with prior forethought is always something I made, before, on accident. Id say its about 60/40 on the planned/accidents ratio. I mean, how else can you...

Re: How can I stereo-ize my sound without causing phasing is
Yes I do use FL studio, have that plugin but i barely ever use it, perhaps its worth giving a look at for stereo effects. I'll test out chorus then reverb to see if the effect is desireable
