I wouldn't say that dubstep is in a lull. But we want to be forwarding. So we should do new things. How about some other rythm measures. i think people need to look at the differring intentions of different DJs sets. some people wanna play old Fela and funk to entertain a crowd. but other DJs want to move an entire current genre forward by expressing themselves through their selection and presentation of brand new music. which will ...

Can you really call playing breakstep, dubstep, and grime in the same set "diversity?" If that's what passes for diversity it shows how narrowly focused the rules are. The funny thing is I know most people here listen to all different forms of music (see previous thread). So why when it co...

It was a quality night. Packed house. Attractive females dancing with abandon. Plastic and Vex'd threw down. Crowd was really feeling Vex'd in particular. Word of mouth on the Degenerate album has been amazing.

This is great news. It's time for somebody to come along and re-infuse jungle music with a political voice. Nobody is more ripe for the task than Gerald. Black Secret Technology and 28 Gun Bad Boy were way beyond anything else around at the time (except maybe for 4 Hero), so it's great to hear Geral...

In the same vein as "Flatbeat" Paul Rose used that Detroit Grand Pubas track "We can make sandwiches" in one of his mixes recently and it worked perfectly.

Dubplate culture has always been a complicated issue, even for drum n bass, because it's inherently elitist and could be seen as alienating potential consumers of the sound. However it does impose a very high level of quality control on the music and gives it a definite mystique. When that 2 year ol...

Dubway has the Skream Big Apple mix from a few years back up on the blog (dubstep.blogspot.com). If you want to hear Skream's tunes in all their glory I would suggest downloading Hatcha's last studio mix 'Practice Hours,' which I believe is also posted on Dubway's site. Hatcha has all the new Skream...
