DJing with Ableton - Cue output
sthup guys, wondering if anyone could give me a hand setting up ableton for DJing. I'm using an alesis IO|2 external soundcard and trying to figure out how to get my headphones playing cued tracks seperately from my speakers... Seems like I've only got 2 outputs (left n right) from the Alesis, which...

It's fucking disgraceful how the whole crowd is hanging on her every word. There's no fucking content to any of it! They're all cheering on cue, booing on cue, clapping on cue. Are any of them actually even listening to what the fuck she's on about? Aside from that, the speech is so hilariously cont...

Cheers guys, there was one other thing I meant to ask that slipped my mind, although not about clean sub sounds, but still to do with pitch-shifting a bass sound.. Say I have two oscillators in my synth that I've detuned slightly (like 20-30 cents) in order to get a slightly harsher and heavier soun...

Juggling different sub frequencies
Yo guys, does anyone else find themselves having to automate their filters, eq etc to match notes being played when dropping a bit of melody on your sub bass? eg the resonance, you can get it sounding perfect for one note but as soon as you shift a semitone or two then the sound just dies. So I'm so...

Are there any big differences between TRS and XLR when it comes to relatively low-end monitors? And yeah, guess nobody here uses their production computer for playing the odd cheeky game on? Think I'm just gonna have to take a leap of faith with this Alesis IO2, I can't believe it'll sound that bad ...

audio interfaces, gaming and uh, cables
About to splash out on some KRK RP8s, and getting an audio interface (looking at the Alesis IO2). Thing is I use my PC for gaming (and films, tv etc too) and I know that audio interfaces are generally a bit rubbish for gaming. Has anyone had any experience with models that seem to be decent enough f...

Multiple instances of Massive in Live 7.0
Anyone else have weird problems when they add a second instance of Massive into Live? Selecting a preset in the 2nd instance causes random changes to the first one, like changing cutoffs, amplitute, resonance, etc. Spent time on google and could only find one other thread from a year ago, and nobody...

Soundforge / wavehammer artifacts
I'm trying to maximize a wav exported from Reason using Soundforge, but can't seem to do it without littering it with blips and high pitched beeps. Even with only the tiniest change, theyre added everywhere. It's nowhere near 0db and it's only using 1% of my CPU so I'm pretty clueless. halp?

plug me ears
so I've decided to start pranging about the future of my ear drums and I'm considering getting a decent set of earplugs so that I don't get hit with tinnitus as early as some of my friends. I'm willing to splash a fair bit of cash on them but looking for value rather than spending a hundred quid ext...

Oscillation boxes and sonic circuitry slabs
I'm gonna get myself a new set of speakers for my PC, and looking to spend a fair chunk of cash on getting something quality (maybe as much as £200-300). Ideally I'd like a pair that sound wicked but are also decent pseudo-monitor-like for my production (can't afford to get a set of seperate monitor...

Recording jams to Reason 4
When I'm adding a new melody to a track I like to just put it on loop and jam on the keyboard, like most people I guess. Problem is I'll get really into it and knock out a sweet tune but then I'll spend ages trying to remember what notes I played. I've tried recording but it's a pain when I'm only w...

Prob with ReMOTE 25SL drum pads...
ey guys Just got my hands on the awesome 25SL compact and it's working beautifully, except for the drum pads. The main problem is when I start to record something in Reason, all 8 pads play a long note from the moment the recording starts, sending out 8 note lines that keep stretching out until I st...
