http://www.asio4all.com/ drivers from there can get you under 10ms (w/o much of a buffer). Around 13ms buffer is safe if you've got a good pc.

It's not worth getting a serious interface unless you need high quality recording, or really want to work in 24/96+

... or unless you want to record things through midi with a keyboard etc... the latency times on internal sound cards suck, so there'll be a big difference from when you hit a key ...

I really like this one too, but it definately sounds to me more like straight up dub with a little extra synth-action...

I'm also relatively new to the dubstep thing but not to dub, so I'm trying to get a handle on the sound as well....

I feel like somehow a big part of it is the timbre ...

Just wondering what Reverb plugins people are using. I've just been using Waves RVerb / Trueverb, and this other random one that comes with that program Sonar called Sonitus Reverb. They seem ok, but I'm not sure I'm really %100 satisfied with them.

Trueverb seems ok for short room ...

I think it sounds quite good for a first too.

never used what you do specifically and don't know exactly how you're going about it, but maybe just trying playing the notes in the next octave down, or find some way to lower the highs in it (maybe bring down the cutoff filter) and bring up the volume ...
